Supersonic Records Paris
Night #2 06/05/25

Tonight the support act was a French-American band called The Tommy Crystal playing their debut Paris show. Like yesterday’s support they had an early 90s sound. They opened the show with the singer and guitarist playing a quiet track in the crowd which was an effective way to get people’s attention. They had around four people in the crowd videoing everything so it was very well documented!

As expected in Jeff’s set no songs were repeated from last night’s gig with tracks drawn from across his discography.

The Endless Unknown
Birdies in the Wood
Sometimes Life Hits You
(Jeff shared he was a Literature major at college so decided to make low budget videos out of greatest American novels. Jeff is not a great fan of the next one but decided to start at the top…)
The Great Gatsby (Low Budget Video)
Things That People Give Me (solo)
The East River (solo)
Back to Manhattan
Exactly What Nobody Wanted
Travel Light (Written with Diane Cluck and a sounded great with the double female backing vocals)
It Only Takes A Moment (With a Yo La Tengo esque extended outro)
A Rushed Read-Thru Of Mark Twain’s 1876 Book The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer (Low Budget Video with 80s rock backing track played on iPod)
Tylenol PM
Arrow
Cult Boyfriend
Except For The Fact That It Isn’t
(After showing Low Budget videos of the greater novels Jeff decided to also do his own versions of the greatest films of all time starting with…)
Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn (Low Budget Video)
Don’t Be Upset
(Only Jeff and Mallory remain on stage)
Do They Owe Us A Living (Crass cover)
The Chelsea Hotel Oral Sex Song (Lovely violin part by Mallory)
A Low Budget Detective Flick (Low Budget Video)

Three highlights from tonight were: (1) Things That People Give Me which is becoming one of my favourite tracks, (2) The Evil Dead 2 low budget video since it had a far better story than the greatest novels shared beforehand and (3) hearing Arrow again.

Tomorrow catching the Eurostar back to London for the show at The Dome.
