Jeffrey Lewis - 6th official album -
"A Turn In The Dream-Songs"
official release date Oct 10, 2011 (worldwide) on Rough Trade Records
about 12 songs... including "Reaching," "Try It Again," "To Go And Return," "Water Leaking, Water Moving," "Krongu Green Slime," etc...
Special guest vocal/instrumental help here and there from members of Dr. Dog, The Vaselines, Au Revoir Simone, Misty's Big Adventure, The Wave Pictures, Schwervon, etc...
I'm working on CD fold-out artwork that'll be at least as long a fold-out as the "12 Crass Songs" CD packaging, maybe longer! I hope Rough Trade approves the packaging expense... My original "'Em Are I" packaging plan had to be toned down by the label because of production costs, and this is a conversation I have yet to have with them regarding the new album artwork plan... but hopefully it'll still end up being something unique and cool. Vinyl release (with download code) is planned as well.
Tour dates around the album release are being planned for Spain Oct 13-23, UK Oct 24 - Nov 5, USA Nov 9 - Dec 1, and hopefully stuff in Europe sometime too but maybe not till 2012.
More info as it all continues to shape up! |

Can't wait to hear it! I love the water song, and the guest musicians sound promising too. Oh, and please try to visit the Netherlands, the west side of Germany or Belgium:) |

Yeah, we haven't done a tour of Holland in a long time! And now it's been a long time for Belgium too! I think it's been a couple years of trying to play a lot of new places, Israel, Russia, Finland, New Zealand, China, Spain, Italy, all this stuff where we don't have very many fans but it's interesting to go and see what happens... but it means lately we have not spent as much time in the areas that we used to tour regularly! So the past two years we've neglected the middle of America, and most of the west of Europe... haven't even toured Ireland for a bit... now we don't know how many of those people would remember us... it's so hard to "keep the ball in the air" in every area. And if you're on the road ALL the time, then there's no time to make new songs or new comic books! It's also been harder to do as much touring now that Jack lives in Oregon and Dave lives in England and I'm still in New York... everything's more complicated to plan to all get together. But still I can't believe we've managed to be a band for so long! Okay, I'm just rambling now... time to stop writing on my own message board and go to sleep... |

Well, it is admirable that you and your brother are still in a band together, I'm not sure if I could spend that much time with my brother without going crazy! But if you keep on making good new music and comics, I think the not being able to tour the whole world every two years isn't really that bad |

I wonder when this will be available for pre-order. And where. And if there would be a neat little pre-order package. I'm just super damn excited. |

There should be, like, a special run of so many copies with something cool in a gift pack or something. Malcolm Middleton has done some great ones, like the Arab Strap box set that's full of rare vinyls and press cuttings and each one comes with a signed card from Aidan and Malcolm...and the How to get to Heaven from Scotland that has a signed valentines card and a board game in it! So special, I am such a slave to a good gimmick. xxxx _________________ Never trust a heart so bent it won’t break. |
