Hello everyone, it's my first post here, and to be honest I'm fairly new to Jeffrey Lewis and his stuff as I just discovered him at this gig he gave at Pure Groove (London). I already knew some "anti-folk" stuff such as The Moldy Peaches, etc... and I quite appreciate it.
I really enjoyed the 30 min gig (4 songs). He played 2 songs from the new album and the Punk History stuff. The first one he played happens not to be on the latest album, I don't have the name, but I suppose it was called "Funny the first time" as it was rather the key phrase of the song. It also talked about rhubarb. Yeah rhubarb (one of the first sentences in fact talked about it)
If anyone know what I'm talking about, please tell me where I can find/listen/buy this song cause I really liked it and thought it was on the album
Otherwise, I decided to go and see him as I'm in London for a few more days at the Scala tonight. I understood some of you we'll be there too, hope it will be as good as the small acoustic gig |

It's Jeff's version of a song by Peter Sampfel (NYC legend, one of the Holy Modal Rounders).
I think there's a recording of it on a radio session somewhere. I'll have a look. _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |

Thank you !
I've been looking on Google, and it's really hard to find Peter Stampfel & The Bottlecaps which is apparently the album with Funny the first time... So if you have the radio recording somewhere, I'd be very happy |
