On Sunday Feb. 10 on the Lower East Side of NYC not far from where Jeffrey grew up, there gathered an unusual audience of Jeffrey Lewis fans--they were all just a few feet tall, some drooled , all came with their mothers and/or fathers. Jeffrey played an amazing 1/2 hour set of songs that wouldn't offend little ears, with no talk of sex, death or radical politics: Global Warming song, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, I Been Everywhere, Singing Tree, Creeping Brain, Sifting.
Did they dig the Creeping Brain? It looked to me like they thought it was for real, their jaws dropped, their mouths hung open,but the parents smiled a lot.
