So I was washing some clothes the other day, and I realised I have a fair few different band t-shirts. It got me thinking - what t-shirts do other folk have? I have some slightly embarressing ones, so I'll only reveal all if some of you guys list what you have! If you've got pictures of any obscure or rare ones. that'd be ace!

I have so many it's not even funny.
I went through a phase, when I was at university, where I went to up to 3 or 4 concerts a week & if I liked the band & wasn't completely broke I'd buy cds & shirts at the merch stand. I had a pretty well paid part time job back then so I had enough cash to indulge!

some rather embarrassing ones:
- Incubus (2)
- Hole (1, courtney love half naked on the front: oh boy did I get some comments & whistles because of that one!)
- Red Hot Chili Peppers (5 or 6)
- Heather Nova (1)
- Our Lady Peace (2 from a show in 1998)
- Aerosmith (1 with the smoking eagle that I got at a show in 1994 - I wore it for years but it had a million holes so I probably threw it out)
- Stereophonics (1 from 1997 or 98, during the tour the first album)
-Marylin Manson (1 with a painting of a kid holding a gun to his head! nasty)
-The Cranberries (1 with a screaming kid from the zombie video in black & white)

now, the not so embarrassing ones:
- Radish (1, that's Ben Kweller's band from the 90s, before he went solo - I saw them at le divan du monde before it got redesigned! He still uses the same drummer, John, as he did then!)
- sonic youth (a black hoodie with the Bad Moon Rising scarecrow on the front)
- Radiohead (1, the Gucci Little Piggy one from the OK Computer era!)
- Jeff Lewis (2 from the first 2 albums but I had to throw them out because they shrunk too much & I don't have a little brother to recycle them on)
- 1 huge green Kimya Dawson shirt with dinosaurs from 2004 (note to self: american XL is like a dress!)
- 1 huge Herman Dune shirt from not on top tour (same as the Kimya shirt: HUGE) that I keep thinking of cutting up & customizing
- Mischief Brew (1)
- ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead (1 that I bought in 2001 at an amazing show)
- Serafin (2, UK band with former Stony Sleep frontman)
- Rage Against The Machine (2)
- The Mars Volta (2 that I bought they toured with the first ep, before the 1st album came out - they had the now defunct Radio Vago opening & also a cool rapper called Subtitle whose ep I bought as well)
- Queens of the Stone Age (I had a cool red one that I lost)
- A Perfect Circle (1 that came with the first album if you bought it in the first week, which I did!)
- Jane's Addiction (2, I used to really like them)
- Porno for Pyros (1, as above, I liked most ofStephen Perkins & Perry Ferrel's projects)
- Nirvana & Foo Fighters shirts (2 but they've all been thrown out)
- Fugazi (1 but it was -obviously- fake: it was the famous "this is not a fugazi shirt")
- sigur ros (1 from 1999)
- Animal Collective (1 really cool shirt that I lost in England)
- Girls vs Boys (1 that I bought years ago when they opened for Interpol)

I'm forgetting tons of shirts because I lose a lot of them or throw them out when they're unwearable (too many holes or too shrunk).

I like getting CDs & merch at shows because the money goes straight to the artist (instead of a tiny percentage after the label, store, distributor, taxes, etc take their share if you buy a cd in a shop) who, I assume, gets his CDs from the label (and doesn't have to pay $10 for them)

oh & I have a Mo'Fo 2005 shirt.
I mostly wear skate/surf shirts & shoes (volcom, von zipper, Plan B, Split, Element, Globe, Etnies, Vans, Airwalk, Zoo York, Criminal, Matix, Nixon, Burton, Gotcha, Rip Curl, Quiksilver, etc... I'm such a sucker for this type fo brands because they really make the kind of clothes I wear all the time!)

.cas.

I have a Goldie Lookin' Chain 'You Knows It!' t-shirt, which is a bit embarrassing, though there actually was a time when they were funny.

Oh, and Radish were great, I saw at the Reading Festival back in '97.

I used to have a excellent Velvet Underground shirt with the banana on the front.

That's around the time I saw them too. The bass player came on with a hockey mask but it was so hot he didn't keep it on very long!

I have a french connection (fcuk) shirt with the VU banana & a not funny line written under it...

I haven't skated in years (not since I busted my back in 1998) but I still wear the same clothes!

Forgot to mention my Blur 'Parklife' t-shirt from 1994, which was once black and is now a very pale grey. That was my favourite t-shirt for a long time. Then perhaps it was the Idlewild one - Hope is Important. And I like to wear my Belle and Sebastian one to work - it says 'Step inside my office baby' (not that I actually have an office, of course)....

I really like the idea of band t-shirts - kinda like what Cas says, it's nice to get the stuff direct. Also, t-shirts are often only the available at gigs, and so it seems a shame to miss the opportunity! Also, I like the idea of people asking me what my shirt is all about, which does happen sometimes.

I think my first band t-shirt was a Moldy Peaches one I made myself. The print is of the album cover, and it's in reverse, because my mate forgot to flip the image. I think it looks better backwards, though. It has also been signed by many an antifolk star, most notably the monkey on the back that Kimya Dawson drew.

I have a few skin tight t-shirts, from some phase I went through at uni Rolling Eyes A baby blue Idlewild one, a Super Furry Animals one that a friend gave me, a Queens of the Stone Age one that I grabbed at a party at the Reading festival once, and also a Ten Speed Racer one which I got at the same festival (again for free - who the hell are Ten Speed Racer anyway?!). I defaced the 10SR one with the slogan "I wanna be a hulkamaniac" - me and my friend had bought the Moldy Peaches super-album that weeekend and listened to it all the time...

Normal size t-shirts - One Viking Moses; one The Cutoffs; one burgandy Jeff Lewis (City and Eastern graphic) and a Electric Eel Shock t. Ooh, and a Chris-TT one which has the slogan "it's better to have died of drink than never drunk at all". Yeah, I thought I had more...

My fav t is the Viking Moses one - light blue, with a brown graphic. So cool! Also love the EES one and especially the Moldy Peaches one - I still wear that for the odd AF gig!
