My dad used to play us Lonnie Donegan when I was a kid, and there's a song about a train called 'The Wabash Cannonball' that begins 'She came down from Birmingham one cold December day'. I was quite upset to find that it was Birmingham, Alabama rather than Birmingham, West Midlands. This still makes me laugh.
Similarly, the Cumberland gap isn't anywhere near Carlisle.... _________________ http://www.myspace.com/arhythmicnick |

I've never heard that one. I was quoting Randy Newman from the song that's just called "Birmingham"(also Alabama), but you have me intrigued; I'll give that song a listen. |
