Can anybody figure out the lyrics to this song by Dufus about Jeff Lewis? You can do a Google search for it and get a free MP3 at Rhapsody. Also a muffled live performance on YouTube. I can hardly understand the words . "Revolutionary mind' and something about standing tall and singing with his brother was about all I could understand. |

No idea either. I'm trying to find Dufus albums at the moment, so when I get the one with this, I'll make an effort to post them.
Sounds cool though. _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |

I own the album that has that song on. Maybe I'll try and work it out over the festive period. How hard can it be?!
Ooh yeah, I like the snowflakes on here! |

I love the snowflakes. It's 57 degrees F here, not a snowflake in sight. If I can stay up late enough I may go see Jeff and Jack at the Mercury Lounge on Tuesday and if I can talk to him I'll ask him about Jahflooey. Why do bands write lyrics if nobody can understand them because the music overrides them? |

Thanks for asking about this, Thelma. It made me listen to the album again, and really appreciate how good it is.
The album it is on is 1:3:1, and inside there's the lyrics. Below is a transcription as they are written in the inlay. Very Sev ov Dufus stylee:
here y ar mi bruther t th newly tagged, maekin on th run a neu flag, run a revolutunary mind, pikkin up th peepl, fingr pikkin on a six string n th strings ar maed a steel, y cn tel yer getting reddy fer a tiem wen th werld aint as as easy as it wuz.liv yer lief n y'l prollally see stuf, y hoep y cn beleev me, th luk on yer faec bring a warm faec t evry faec n th vicinity.dont hied too long, come out n plae. y cn plae all dae n skip down th road, laff (loud) wit a frend, hold th hand uv a pretti grl. here iz th plaec, th tiem iz nao fer y t com reigning cuz y ar th sunshine.ther y ar mi bruthr n y feel jus fine, ther's a remedy in music, pass byond th enemy line, dress y up jus liek a shepherd. luk@ how du tru uns git their faec shuvd in th dirt. luk it how yer standng proud, feel it how y stand so tall... com out n plae
Somewhere in amongst that lot are a few JAHFLOOOOO-EEEEEEY!s. I really like this song, and it makes it all the better that it's actually about a real person, best of all that it's Jeff. Thanks again, Thelma! |

It's a very good song. Can non-native English speakers understand the idiomatic phonetic spelling? Thanks for the transcription. Too bad you have to read the lyrics to understand the song. |

Just happen to be staying in a home that has the Dufus CD. I notice that Jeffrey did some illustrations for the liner notes. |
