Haha, this is from a year ago.
Stanley is amazing. Saw him play a while ago, and have a few albums.
Incredible (but I wish he was still with Herman Dune). _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |

when stanley brinks played in edinburgh, he played one song smoking the whole way through. i actually thought it was a bit sad. sorry, i support the draconian ban, and it made me view him differently. sorry to his fans, but that's how i felt! |

No problem Kieron, different stokes for different folks.
I support the ban too, in a lot of ways. I like not smelling of smoke after shows.
I don't think Andre is trying to be like "hey, look at me! i'm smoking and I'm not allowed! I'm so cool!"
I think he is just always smoking. That man can smoke a lot. _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |

I remember he did this when I saw him just over a year ago. I wasn't really sure what I thought about it, then was something quite childishly rebellious about it, but it wasn't done in a completely obnoxious way - I think the point he was making is that people are too careful about what they do and that just because people are told not to do things, bad shit won't happen if they do.
But then I'm sure there are better ways of making that point.
As for the ban - I quite like it - gives me a chance to bail outside if a conversation is getting boring Plus I don't smoke anywhere near as much as I used to so I'd notice the smell on my clothes a bit more. |

what do you mean? he won't get kicked out or fined? or i won't get cancer? if everyone tried to make the same statement then perhaps bad things would happen. unless of course you totally disagree that passive smoking has ill-effects. anyway, i'm gonna shut up. i've already pissed chris tt and some of his chums off today... not a good one for me!
although the more i think about it, the more i realise it was a tiny little venue, packed full of people, with probably quite a sweaty/farty tang going on! perhaps it was for the best |

Yeah - I didn't really explain that very well did I? He said that people were afraid that if they started smoking then they'd get arrested or whatever and that he was in London and did it and no one did anything so it's just a little thing he does to prove a point... I mean, I didn't really fully get that point - it's just what he tried to explain.
As for passive smoking - my view is that of course it has ill effects, but so do a billion other things and it's important that we don't get locked in a world where we keep having to ban things or restrict things just because of a slight ill effect. I thought an all out band was wrong because people should have the right to choose where they want to go - if they want to smoke, go to a place where you can, if you don't go somewhere else. That may be a little black and white, but I like it like that, things can get complicated too quickly. |

i think you're missing the point, it's not the mercury that's dangerous, it's the water itself. more people drown in water than anything else! ban it! |
