Best French- English book of curse words is "Merde" by Geneviève-- :"the Real French you Were Never Taught in School."( and its sequel Merde Encore) Unfortunately, it has no index so you can't look words up, but it makes great bathroom reading for all students of French. Funny pictures ,too. I used an expression from this book once and someone on a forum got so offended she left the forum because of it. ( She didn't know French and had to ask someone what it meant.) I still don't understand what "Je me fous pas mal" means. Merde is readily available on Bookfinder, cheap enough.

oooops, hehehe....yep, i'm the official french curse words teacher!
i can't help myself... my favorite, when i'm really angry or when eveything's all fucked up is the old but famous "putain de bordel de meeeeerde" !!and sometimes, it can be way worse than that ...i know....not that good in a girl's mouth..but you know what?.....blame my bad mouthin' granny, i learned all from her when i was a kidlet...ohh how interesting it was! Laughing
of course, she didn't do it on purpose...but you know kids..Razz

by the way, is there any differences between cursing and cussing?i mean...one has maybe a worse meaning than the other?... or is it just cursing=british and cussing=US?

Cussing isn't used much, its a word from my childhood - to be cussed is to be insulted, it was always be playful though some one would insult you and your mates would laugh and say ' ha you've been cussed'
or 'he's cussing you'

hi!
ohhh there's no index? weird... cuz that's Why we bought those kind of books really..to learn the meanings.... a friend of mine (from texas) finally found and bought a british slang dictionary...cuz she didn't understand half of what brits use to say...i thought that was strange...ok, the majority of them are northerners but still, i found it quite odd...well, not that odd after all...english language is very rich, prolific...it depends from where you're livin'..etc...but whenever she asks me to translate what they're sayin' into "standard" english for her, i'm always amazed! Shocked Laughing

"Je me fous pas mal de lui" = i couldn't care less about him, don' t give a damn about...
"va te faire foutre" = sod off, fuck off...
"j'en ai rien à foutre", "je m'en fous pas mal" = i don't give a fuck/ damn about it, don't give a toss...
i could go on and on...oh and i forgot... foutre in old french means male's semen.... damn Embarassed told you i can't help meeself... okkk, that's it for today kids!! Laughing
i'll get my coat!
