The album is just great, it's the sound i like.
Shadow party : Slow ska tune, makes you wanna dance.
Is it enough? : Kind of poppy tune, great production, with keyboard.
Where's the youth? : New recording, the old version sound Pavement to me, this one make me think of Jick's Dark wave, i like both a lot.
Kids on Tours : Ska/dub tune, funny lyrics
Graffiti artist bombs : The old version sounds like Jonathan Richman according to Jack, well this one doesn't, sounds very different, the production is great, i always loved the lyrics of this tune.
The day Neil Young die : Again a new recording of the song. After seing it live i got to say that this song is one of my Jack's fave.
I like when Jack talks about music in his songs.
Terrific production, love the buzzy sound at the end.
November : Well known tune from Lvov read his note, duet with Rebecca Schiffman, very nice song.
The deer in the woods : So much better than the demo version, emandee gave such a great cachet to Jack's recordings.
Nothing like the O.E.D : Mellow song, brillant song, with clarinet. i wonder what OED means? Raphi is playing guitar of this song.
The one the drummer never liked (the epic) : Even the title is brillant, that song is a great instrumental piece, psychedelique tune, great guitar, hypnotising bass....sounds very "live" just like if they were jamming in your speakers.
Unicef box : Already a classic song for Jack's fan other here.
Great tune indeed, great lyrics, rich structure, definitly a masterpiece.
So i can say that i absolutly love the album, i also like the cover a lot too.
I was very suprised that most of the old songs have been re-recorded.
As i said above, this records sunds the way i like a record to sound, raw, melodic, a lot of energy.
Put all of your favorite record in the closet, Laissez Lewis will be on your player for a long time!

I'm listening this album right now, as I have been most of the day. It's really incredible. Very different to how I expected (especially Kids On Tour!) in a really wonderful way,
I can't choose a favourite. _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |
