Jeff has been a great inspiration to me and after seeing him with Adam Gren in September I was inspired to write and play my own music. I booked this show at The Independent Media Center in my hometown of Urbana-Champaign and opened before The Duke of Uke and his Novelty Orchestra the result was most wonderful. Jeff is a very nice man it was a pleasure to meet him. We tried to record the show in a number of ways, but in the end it just came down to the pictures and video I took on my digital camera. The song is Seattle, enjoy.

I am glad to be able to share some of that evening with you hip folks. Being woken up by Jeffrey at 5 am and hanging around talking about his musical influences at the train station seemed a bit dreamlike when I woke up for the second time at 1pm. I asked him about Cohen and he said he wasn't really into him. Alexander "Skip" Spence was a big influence for him. He had one album called Oar. I still haven't given the album the attention it deserves yet. |
