I saw this yesterday -- it truely is an amazing film. I recommend it to fans and non-fans alike. I guess a lot of the American folk on this board saw this film, like, six months ago, but in Europe I think it's only just come out at the movies. So, all go forth and watch this -- it is ace.

I've seen it yesterday and i liked it so much.
Daniel Johnston is such a character!
LSD seems like it destroyed a lot of musicians, too bad.
Daniel J is so moving, the movie is pretty sad to me.
Great movie! Great music!

Hoorah! Glad you got to see it at last, Dav! It's out on DVD here in the UK now, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I buy it Smile

Kieron - it's well worth getting the DVD - if only for the cool extras, which include footage of Daniel meeting up with Laurie again, for the first time since he left college. Heart-in-the-mouth stuff.

How lovely is Kathy McCarty though??? If you haven't got it, I can heartily recommend her album of Daniel J covers. Her "Living Life" is even better than the one by Eels.

Thanks for the tip Michael. I was suitably impressed with the extras; the only reason I didn't buy it was because I also bought a slew of records (see Last Record You Bought thread).

I'll keep an eye out for the Kathy McCarty disc too! Smile
