MIND BLOWING !
But let me explain a little more.
I took the train from Rennes to Tours and met with my uncle there, we walked to the venue, a good thing he knew the place cos it's very hard to spot, in a dark alley between another pub and what seemed to be a gay bar or something.
I met with Jack before while drinking a beer, he was sorry that Ema couldn't make it, he gave me the LP and his fanzine for her and tells again that he's sorry she couldn't make it.
The first band hit the stage a play something that i don't want/can't describe, let's just say i got out and have a smoke.
Later Jack introduced me to Simon from the Wowz, a great new york band for those who don't know them (you can get their lp for free on their web site).
Simon is such a great guy, we chated for a long time about music and stuffs.
After i met with Raphi, the guy doing the drums in the Cutoffs, we met because he though i took cd and other stuffs without paying, after clearing it we had a chat, he's indeed a great guy too.
Then came in Bibasse (just like in the song....cqfd) hair freshly cut, we walked out and he ate a Pizza, then we got back, chat again and the show started.
The crowed wasn't convinced at the begining but when mader and mader song after song.
Jack, Raphi and Simon opened with a "slow" song i didn't knew, yeah that happens....Simon played trumpet on it, awesome.
Then the played Shadow Party, a slower version than the one that was upped on myspace, awesome, Jack warned us that Simon is a great guitarist and he wasn't lying, his playing is mind blowing, it fits Jack's songs so well, rought but melodic if you see what i mean.
I can't really remember the order the songs were played, but i can tell you that they play Andre Herman Dune cover, bridge may be icy, great tune indeed.
They also cover a Wave pictures song witch was also very good.
The Cutoffs played three or more new songs from the Jack and The Cutoffs LP, all great songs, a lot of energy on stage, some yellings, some trumpet, some drum rolls, some bass blasting your ears and making your spine vibrates.
Chris Maher joined the guys on stage for a couple of songs, playing acoustic guitar.
At one point, Jack asked to the audience if someone wat to tell a joke, then Simon started to tell us one, about pissing orange and going to the doctor who asked him if he ate carrot and some other stuff, the the joke was interrupted by Stand Up Man, greeeeeat version of a great song, one of the highlights of the night to me.
They played Unicef box (the new hit according to a flyier that was next to cds and shirts) again it was incredible, this song is so brillant, maybe one of my Jack fave, especially live.
They were about to leave, but some of us yelled for more and the played The Day Neil young Died, very goos (i'm having hard time to find other things than awesome or great, i'm sorry about that).
Then the show was other.
Bibasse and I chated with Simon for quite a long time, that was great (!)
We asked him if we could take a pic of us with them and we went out and asked a couple walking by to take it.
We chated more then Bibasse had to leave, i stayed and chated some more, then they were going to eat and i was going to sleep.
The show was just incredible, YOU CAN'T MISS IT !
Don't tell you weren't warned!
I shot crappy vids with my camera and took a few pics, i'll post the pics later today, stay tune, and sorry if this review was boring to read, i just felt like writing it. _________________ http://uberaffe.bandcamp.com

Yep. It's a week away and I am rather excited. I'm sure we'll be able to get in, don't worry Nic.
We did it for Schwervon we can do it again. Do you want to get sandwiches again? _________________ Life is too short to refrain from eating jam out of the jar |

I wanted to make a sort of review of Jack Lp "Lvov goes to emandee" but i don't want to spoil or something, it's better to discover a record without knowing anything i guess, let's just say you gonna like it! _________________ http://uberaffe.bandcamp.com |
