thanks very much for the herman dune tabs, especially walk don't run.
i play kimya dawson's eleventeen: G - C - D - C C/B C/A (like a little run down).
i'm really happy to know walk don't run now. open mic a go go!
(hopefully see anybody who might be at the jeff lewis band/danielson gig at the social in nottingham tomorrow?)

Does anyone know how to play I wish that I could see you soon by herman dune?
(Don't feel obligated to answer in rhyme.) |

I think that it involves C,F and B.
Maybe not though, that's just a hunch. I think I am wrong as Nic is scowling at me. _________________ Life is too short to refrain from eating jam out of the jar |

Yeah, moe is right! As always!
If you want to play it without a capo (sounds better on electric guitar) it's:

You are wonderful (even though I haven't been able to get Giant yet - hopefully next week, if it's out here!) _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |

Does anyone know the chords to Red Blue Eyes by HD? I have some chords here and there (some Ds, Cs, Gs, maybe an Am here or there) but I am having trouble getting the full structure. _________________ Life is too short to refrain from eating jam out of the jar |

dunno if my guitar if complitely out of tune of what but i can't get their exact notes
anyways i think you gotta play it around those notes (though it can be a 1/2 tone different)
F#---G#-A#---- (x4) for the part with the flute
then andre starts singing and it goes like
-----G#---------------------------------------
i'd shave my face into clark gable's
--------B---------------------------------------
but i wouldn't be at my best
-----------A#--------------------------------
i do my talking at coffee tables
-----------B--------------------C#-----------
i like a setting sun in the west
--------------Eb--------------------------C#--
don't you hate it when people are not what they seem
---G#-----------------------------------------
i love it when
B---------------------------F#-----------------
water doesn't turn into steam
then intro part again
i hope i'm not wrong don't hesitate to correct me _________________ http://www.myspace.com/lapinmachin

Mas Combios is all downtuned 1/2 a step, so it's pretty weird to work out. I think you went the wrong way (down to G, not up to G#) but I'm probably wrong. This is one of the songs on the album I haven't been able to work out. Also, one of my favourites. _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |

actually i haven't detuned at all, i just worked it out with the closest tune i found out on regular tuning.
but it might be a 1/2 semitone different...but anyways, i basically just tried to find the way to play it assuming that the first chord they play at the beginning of the song, with the flute part, is a F#, now you still can start with a G, i think the real tune stands somewhere between those 2 notes so... (still closer to F# ) _________________ http://www.myspace.com/lapinmachin

All this guitar talk confuses me. I was just playing it by ear along to the record on the piano and the chords that I had seemed to fit. The main thing I'm asking is the structure I suppose. Feel free to refer to them as "chord #1", "chord #2" etc, to avoid all this tuning malarkey. Then I can choose my own key afterwards. _________________ Life is too short to refrain from eating jam out of the jar |
