theres just something about them! they make me wanna get up and....the only way i can describe it "dance like chris martin from coldplay", with all the running and jumping and everything...and then on other songs they just make me totally relax after ive had one of those days.

I KNOW!

I hadn't listened to them for ages and ages and then the other day I was listening to a live show where they play Power out and then without stopping go into Rebellion. Anyway, I was trying to revise and then I just jumped out of my chair and danced for the rest of the song. If someone had come in my room I would have looked like a fool Embarassed but it was soooo worth it.

Laika does that too, especially live where they hit all the random objects in the chorus.

And then I listened to the album again and CRIED MY EYES OUT to In the Backseat. There's a bit in the second chorus where she just takes it up about 50 levels. Amazing!

But yeah, I like a lot of the bands that you guys have mentioned. Especially Kimya.

Anyone like The Strokes, I know they're not strictly anti-folk, but I really love them.

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Is this it is my favourite, but I really love the other two. It's all a matter of opinion. My dad always winds me up by going on about the the 3rd album having "2 or 3 good songs", gets me angry.

I know what you mean.

I would say go chronologically. Is this it is the most "strokes" album, and my personal favourite, but the other two have a lot to offer as well. If you give each one of them time, and listen to them in order they're the best. The first album, I would say, has the songs that will make you fall in love with them.

The second album, Room on fire got great reviews, and then 6 months later those same magazines were slagging it off. The said it was too similar to before, but I fell they definitely tried dipping their toes in some new water, even if they weren't swimming yet (what am I talking about?).

First Impressions of Earth is not the one I would start with. I really love it, and there's a mix of typical "strokes" sound and a very untypical sound. There are some amazing standout tracks, but others take a bit of persistence if you're not already a fan.

They're all amazing albums, but I would say that as I'm an uberfan. Definitely buy Is this it first. That's the short answer.
