Ok time for a review......
Ema, Ermel (a friend) and me arrived at the venue early because i'm paranoid
and i wanted to get there before it's soldout, of course as we were there one
hour before the show there was no problem at all with the tickets....
After a few minutes Jeffrey comes in with a box full of albums and
comic books, there were Guff 2 and 3, the 2 last albums and a couple of Jack cds, Ema basicly baught everything from that table, we spoke with Jeffrey
for quite a long time
there, about Syd Barrett, the internet, Moby Grape and Alexender Spence,
Bibasse arrived at this time and we chat a bit, Jack stopped by to talk for a bit too, then the show started !

The first surprise was seeing David Herman Dune on stage with his tiny guitar !
They opened with Moving, the song was awesome, too bad the sounds was very bad on this tune but i really enjoyed it, it's one of my favorite song from the lp.

Then the band played Deer in the wood, a song written by Jack, the song is really brillant live, even better than the demo from my space !

I asked Jeff before the show if they planed to play If life exist, he say he wasn't sure but maybe they'll do it, and they did !
This song is amzing, the crowd really seemed to enjoy it, there was a lot of energy coming out of this song

Then they played three songs that i didn't knew, two sung by Jack one by Jeff, all great songs.....

After those punky numbers it was time for a low budget video, the red hand !
Herman Dune played ukulele while Jeff flipped the pages...

Then Jeffrey started New Old Friends, awwwwwww that was one of my fave part of the show, i just lurve this song !

With no transition Jeffrey started with this crooked chord and start playing the singing tree, another great time from the show as you can guess....

and to continue the serie of Jeff solo song he played alphabet with Jack playing the keyboard (or what left of it !)

Then arrived the song that everybody seemed to wait for,
if you shoot the head you kill the ghoul, the crowd really went mad on this one,
Dave on the drums screaming like a mad, Jeff strumming his guitar,
Jack yealing and hiting his bass and david herman Dune rocking out
with his ukulele

Then again a couple of song i don't know, the first one sung by Jack, with the line "if i fall asleep don't wake me up, very catchy tune, and another one sung by Jeff
if i remember right.

Artland ! This song is already great on the album but this live version......anyone who already saw it knows what i mean !

After those speed songs, david on drums needed to take a break,
i can easily understand why, so Jeff take the part three of his history of communism out of his plastic bag
and told us the third part of this saga, David Herman Dune played a catchy
melody on his tiny instrument and Jack played a discret rythm on top of it !

Someone in the crown yelled "POSTERS !!!!" and those loud bass notes played by Jack made the same guy yell "YEAH !!!!"

Creeping brains came next, with backing vocals from DIHD.

At this moment Jack take a little time to thank the bands who were opening the show,
then he also thanked Dave on drums, Dave on ukulele and (erm...) Dave from the message board, and someone (i guess Bibasse) yelled "YEAH !!!! "
That was very nice of Jack but i guess that he didn't plan that
i was about to wet my pants earing this Wink

Jeff played Back When i Was 4, that was a great moment ! With that dilema,
some people laught when Jeff tells us that he fulshed his fish in the toilet,
some people goes awwwww, that's sad.....at his time i haven't decided myself if it's funny or sad....

A new song was played next, very good song, maybe a cover, i'm not sure...
.but the guys gone mad playing this one, DIHD rocked like a beast on his ukulele witch was quite impressive to me,
too bad i couldn't really see Dave on drums from where i was because
from what i was earing he was about to destroy the drums !
Definilty the more powerfull moment of the show !

No LSD tonight, just brillant and funny as hell !

Then Jeff left the stage, Jack and the others played a couple of Jack's song, the first one with the line "dude, that's cool !" another great song, and the show ended !

That was an amazing night, a great show, we had a little chat with Jeff and
DIHD after that, we also talked to David Beauchamp who told us
that the band may come back to europ in June, a great
way to clear the sadness of an ended show, we wait for you guys !

Utterly fantastic review Dav, What with the photos I was almost there with you guys, It sounded an amazing night. And good to hear about the June tour!

I totaly Know what you mean about 'Artland' I think Until you see/hear them play it live you can never fully appriciate that song - However much you like it!

the 'dude' thats cool!' song sounds like ' Don't be scared' , the A R E Weapons cover heard on some of the shows avalible for download.

The "if i fall asleep don't wake me up" song sounds very familiar too but annoyingly I cant think what it is!

Awesome compte-rendu!, Dav!
Yeah, that's true, every new song was totally catchy and yeah I yelled that lot, specially on Posters and Artland which were really graced this night.
Only a few quiet moments, but it was real magic. It was so logical to hear Alphabet next to the Singing tree, and David played this funny whistle that made me chill each time. Moving as always.
