i'm a french guy, 31 years old
I like music a lot, apart from Jeffrey Lewis, i like Syd Barrett, Pixies, Pavement, The Libertines to name a few....i also like movies a lot and tv shows like the Sopranos, i play guitar a bit, i read manga, comic books from Japan, i love Berserk and Akira....
I made this messageboard because i couldn't find any place for Jeffrey Lewis fan to meet and talk, so here it is....there's not much people around at the time but let's hope that they'll somehow find their way here, afterall this place is a couple of days old, let's be patient....what i'm looking for with this place it's to meet new friends and discover new music or anything else that i don't know....

well, let's go for me 3
i'm a 23-year guy from toulouse france, looking for a job in the publishing business. happily unemployed, i spend my days listening to music, playing the bass, reading and moaning alone in my apartment about the whole world.
i discovered jeff lewis a few months ago, but i discovered schwervon before that. i saw them in toulouse in february, then in NYC in august and again in toulouse in october, whith the jeff lewis band, but i was really going to the show for schwervon, that i prefer.
i'm not really into the antifolk music scene, i mostly listen to ; nirvana, the pixies, sonic youth, nick cave, pj harvey, neil young, alice in chains, cat power, morrissey, the cure, joy div, néophyte, the clash, patti smith, hole and so on...
my girlfriend, me and Nan this summer _________________ hey, been trying to meet you |

Hey guys! My name's Chris, I'm 19 and I'm a film student. I live in the south of England and it's a pleasure to meet you all. I got into jeff lewis after a friend lent me the 'last time i did acid...' album a couple of years ago and i've been a massive fan ever since.
I love all antifolk music, as well as pixies, neutral milk hotel, mclusky, xiu xiu, herman dune, frog eyes, ben folds, ben kweller, system of a down, the smiths, the fall, the flaming lips, weezer and many more... i like reading, films, cartoons, old video games, playing guitar and I'm getting a ukelele soon
Dav, you've done a great job here, the site looks great. I hope we all become awesome friends. haha

romilda vain is a combination of my best friend and me (katie and mary beth). so...through this we speak for both of us. we're both 20 years old and we both live in louisiana (for now). we love life. we love to laugh and go on adventures and play. and love is very important.
we love the jeff lewis band.
katie found them a few years ago by accident and that's when our lives started to change. we found out about antifolk and realized that there were all these other people who loved life and sang about it. playing and laughing and loving things for exactly what they are and everything else antifolk is. so...that's why we're here. we know that these guys could be our best friends, so we want to support them. isn't that what friends are for?
ps. good job on the site, dav! _________________ "to burn always with this...flame, to maintain this ecstasy, is success in life. in a sense it might even be said that our failure is to form habits; for, after all, habit is relative to a sterotyped world." - walter pater |

hi! at the first reading of your post, i really thought that one of my virtual friends was trying to play a trick on me! Portsmouth is in hampshire, right? he's 20, film student as well ...and he could have named himself gutzilla or even chris (cf : sopranos)
but then i saw "your place" on myspace and it turns out that i been paranoid, once again! hehe !
i saw that you also have great taste in cinéma! good ! |

I'll give it a try, Zelazny wrote all king of stuff, the greatest imo is the "nine princes in amber" that come in 10 books (first 5 about Corwin, 5 last about Merlin, his kid)
it's really hard to describe what the story i like cos everything in those books obey the rules of chaos, but 'ill try :
Amber is the center of everything, all other places are reflections of Amber, earth too, as Oberon the king of Amber died, the nine princes will try to conquer the throne......The history begins when Corwin is in a hospital bed, he lost his memory, he'll escape and start to look for his past.....
the story skip between present time, past, even take place in a Lewis Carol universe at some times....like i said it's pretty hard to explain, you can find pretty descent resumé of the saga other the internet....
K Dick and Zelazny even wrote a book together, it's called Deus Irae, it's the story of a painter with no arms and no feet who must find God a make a painting of his face ! _________________ http://uberaffe.bandcamp.com |
