I had the pleasure of going to the first night of the UK tour today.
The venue was Hertford Corn Exchange. I'd never been there before despite it being fairly close to where I live. It's a great venue, I like rectangular rooms where the band are playing on the long side of the rectangle, so nobody watching is too far from the stage. I missed most of the support band, David Cronenburg's wife, but I caught the last two songs and they were great. I'll make sure I arrive on time for the support for the other tour dates I attend. I purchased a newly designed Jeffrey Lewis t shirt which I love, as well as Statics issue 2.
It was a really strong set and the new bass player is excellent. The band (Jeffrey, Mallory, Brent and Kait) were really tight.
The songs I remember:
You Don't Have to be a Scientist (just Jeffrey and Mallory on violin).
Travel Light (Diane Cluck cover)
Exactly What Nobody Wanted (the bass was turned up super loud for this, I think the bass may have been turned down slightly in the mix after this song but it sounded awesome!)
England is the food (solo)
A cartoon I haven't seen before, featuring a hand and nuns. Think Immaculate but less gruesome!
History of punk lower east side.
Manhattan.
Roll Bus Roll
(A song about throwing stuff away solo - I don't know the name of this. It's possibly off one of the bandcamp tapes, I can't remember.) EDIT this is 'Things that people give me' from 2023 Tapes
Life (solo - sadly without Jeffrey saying if kissing could make people pregnant...)
I want it both ways
I'm looking forward to Coventry tomorrow.

Thank you misshelenc!
I do feel grateful and privileged that I am able to go to multiple dates on this tour.
I put all the tickets and hotels on my credit cards without being able to afford them. But then somebody offered my £500 for my Taylor Swift ticket at the very back of Wembley which I happily took, so that is paying for my attendance at Jeffrey's August and September shows!
PS I forgot LPs from yesterday |

You are lucky that it all worked out. I’m looking forward to hearing how tonight goes. Glad you got the finances sorted too. I’d have loved to go to the Eras tour but didn’t. I’m waiting for my Jeff/taylor duo break up song, I think I need that duet in my life. Send my love to the band and have a top night! _________________ You don’t put your life into your books.
