Hi all,
I am not sure but from what I understand from Jeff's facebook, it looks like the Sidewalk Café might be closing? At least it seems it is under new ownership, and it is unclear if it will stay the way it has been.
I have never been there, but I always thought, if I ever go to New York, that's the place I'd most like to visit. You can find some pretty cool old recordings from the early 2000's from the Sidewalk Café on youtube. Just recently I found a video that had a relatively long Moldy Peaches performance in the middle, I think it was from Antifolk Fest.
In any case, if the Sidewalk Café closes it will be sad, especially for those who have known it and have many good memories there.
Here an old video with Jeff, Kimya Dawson and Daniel Johnston: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67L7m9dYP04 |

Good footage of John Kessel playing with his band, starts at exactly 50 minutes in. |

And there's footage of the late Aaron (Moldy Peaches) Wilkenson running the sound-board during John Kessel's set, at 51:38. |
