I received mine too! I'm just going trough it all, but I was wondering... Did anyone else get some song lyrics? I got one for one song, maybe we should share!
Because that's what I love about Jeff's cds and this forum: Jeff always provides the lyrics and for the non-album songs most lyrics can be found on the forum so I can actually understand what the songs are about!
I have "Till I get a diamond (2nd draft)", what did you get? |

Glad they're arriving! They all have that same lyric scrap, but it really WOULD have been a good idea for me to include a different lyric with each one! I figured I only had room to print lyrics for one song, and that one seemed like one of the songs where the lyrics might be hard to hear because of the lo-fi recording. |

I can't believe I get such a special thing and that someone would be so lovely to do this once, let alone 4 times! And when they are so busy as well. It's very sweet x _________________ You don’t put your life into your books. You find it there. |

I have given the cd a few listens and have decided I really like it. There would definitely be a few potential tracks for a future "proper album" and I like how it captures a few months of time so some of the themes are the same throughout a few of the songs presumably based on whatever was going on at the time. I actually like albums sounding like this over loads of instruments sometimes, it's simple but you can hear all the words and is a bit like poetry really with a bit of a tune to carry it. The latest Malcolm Middleton album is a two disc piece with the songs recorded with a full band on one and a bloke and guitar version of the same songs as a bonus disc. I only ever seem to listen to disc two, my ears prefer it.
Thank you again Jeff I really appreciate the effort and time you put into all these things xx _________________ You don’t put your life into your books. You find it there. |

I'm too bald for it to grow back very much, but I'll let the sides grow out for sure! : )
Hmm, is there a "bald" smiley emoticon? Maybe ( : ) |

I really love the cd, i'm a huge lo-fi recordings fan and i'm so glad you got this idea for the 4th giveaway.
I really enjoy the different finger picking and strumming you use on some of the song, especially the 8th one.
What i like about lo-fi recording in general is that the melody has nowhere to hide, it is also inspiring for us "bedroom musicians".
These giveaway are just awesome each single time. _________________ http://uberaffe.bandcamp.com |

Thanks so much Dav, really glad to hear it!
I feel like i've barely been making any finger-picked songs for a while, most of my earlier songs were always finger picked, but in recent years most of the stuff seems to be strummed... I should try to get back to more quiet picking stuff! |

I'd like a return to the finger picking too, if it counts, even if just once in a while! I played Turn in the Dream Songs this afternoon and thought the same thing. I love having a new stereo it's like discovering my music all over again! And guess what, it's all amazing! _________________ You don’t put your life into your books. You find it there. |

I took a wander over to Spillers records today to buy 'somebody' a present and noticed there was a lack of Jeffrey Lewis albums in there, not one!
Make sure you give me a shout if you want anything for record store day next month and I will go in and pick them up for anyone who wants them. I plan to get the Conor Oberst one.
