Just finished The Big Midweek, which is Steve Hanley's memoir of playing bass in the Fall for 20 years (till he finally quit in 1998!). A bit depressing but also funny and fascinating, another addictive music-book reading experience! Geez, which one should I read next...
I started watching the recent Jimi Hendrix movie biopic last night, but it seemed pretty bad so I didn't get very far into it before I fell asleep. Maybe I'll finish it another time. |

Depressing but funny is my kind of thing, I will have a look and see if the library has it.
I am reading Mobile Library by David Whitehouse. I don't know why really, as I didn't like his other book, but it did have library in the title and the last book I read was a translation from the French of the Library of Unrequited Love (amazing) so I stayed with the theme. I'm glad I did as this one is a lot better, It's about a woman, her daughter and a bullied and abused boy on their street on the run in a library van after a crime is committed to said bullies and abusers... it's got some nice little thoughts and is an easy read generally, I like it.
Not read a music book for a while though, maybe I will go on to one soon.

Sounds like a good book!
I rarely read fiction, I should do that more. |

You should. I mostly read fiction, and it is a very useful way of escaping being me for a while, and living in my head as the person I'm reading about. Stories can be good fun in themselves and teach us a lot. Do you use the library? There will be loads in there if you've got a free hour to find some things you might like to try. xx _________________ You don’t put your life into your books. You find it there. |
