I don't know if some of you saw that movie called Frank.

Here is the imdb plot :

Jon, a young wanna-be musician, discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank.

I really like it, to me it was a crossing between Daniel Johnston, Syd Barrett and Captain Beefheart mythology.
It's a great film about song writing, about fame, music business.

The soundtrack is also really cool, the song "lone standing tuft" was the one if really enjoyed, sound a bit like a Barrett tune to me.

i've read that the songs were played and sung by the actor without overdubs.

I forgot to mention that the movie was really funny.

I watched half of it, and was vaguely intrigued but got tired and needed to go to bed... planned to watch the other half the next day, but when it came round to it I didn't, turns out I wasn't as intrigued as I thought. I think as well, I would have liked more mystery, beyond 'who is this person and why do they do that?' I suppose I must be spoiled by brilliant crime novels. Do you think I should watch the last bit? xxx

On the subject of films, I am watching Cropsey tonight, about an urban legend in Staten Island, it's a documentary. So far so good, I love a bit of controversial true crime. Anyone else seen it? I watched Making of a Murderer and this was recommended with it as a similar thing, that was great too, what a stitch up.
