"The first-ever vinyl LP edition of "It's the Ones Who've Cracked That the Light Shines Through" is being prepared for release via Don Giovanni Records... the deluxe vinyl edition contains extra artwork, a download code for the whole album, and a bonus CD with 12 non-album tracks from the 2002-early 2004 time period that the album represents! No release date set yet; more info soon."
Pretty excited for this, especially the extra artwork and a bonus CD! One of Jeff's best records, so excited to see it get a vinyl release. Will it get footnotes? song explanations? studio pictures? _________________ www.mamalips.bandcamp.com |

I've got the test acetate at home, it sounds so good as a record, also with an A-side and B-side. It makes so much sense this way to me and it's also cool because I haven't even listened to this album in forever, I forgot what it sounded like. I did have to adjust the song order a TINY bit to make two equal vinyl sides, but actually I like the new order better. I'm so happy this will finally be on vinyl.
The insert will have some additional liner notes and memories about what things were like when we made the album and stuff like that, and also the whole "secret" comic book that was initially part of the album, the hidden password on the album that linked to a secret comic book on my old website. Actually I can't even remember if that secret comic was in black and white on the old website, this might be first time it's appearing in color. I don't know if anybody ever even saw it! 2003 was a long time ago!
The 12-song bonus CD inside will have some stuff that some of you might already have/know, like the B-sides of the original Back When I Was 4 single, and my song from the "Call it What you Want: This is Antifolk" compilation, but also a bunch of other stuff, live recordings of some songs that aren't findable elsewhere, and live recordings of a couple of the songs that were only on the "4 Seasons" box set, really anything interesting that I could find from the 2003 time period. But some of it is stuff you might already know, it's kind of hard to find stuff that even message board people won't have been aware of! |
