I live in the UK and would love to see some of the Jeff + Diane live dates, but I couldn't justify the expense and difficulty of travelling over to the US for the experience.

I wonder what is the furthest anyone would travel for a gig?

I recently went to a gig near London, it was the final show of a reformed 60's band (The Bonzo Dog Band) and 2 people travelled all the way over from LA to be there. It seemed pretty crazy to me....the show was good, but not that good.

When I briefly lived in the US, I remember talking to a guy in the seat next to me, who'd driven 7 hours to be at the gig. Here in the UK I balk at travelling more than 2 hours for a gig. Maybe Americans are happy to drive that far...or perhaps fuel is so cheap you don't mind the cost...

Did anyone see the recent PULP film - that shows a girl who'd travelled from the US to be at their Sheffield gig.

Maybe its me...

These days I am old and miserable and only go out even locally for very special people, but I have done a 3 hour drive, gone across to London, that kind of thing. It has to be worth it, I like my own house best and usually only like to leave it to go to a few places and then straight back. Being out makes me anxious, and around other people.
If I was holidaying somewhere abroad and someone amazing was on I would go, but I doubt I'd go specially. Hate flying anyway.
I suppose it depends where you live and if you have time/resources and how much you like the person you want to see.
Umm not sure if any of this means anything, sorry.
xx

I went to Portsmouth once to see a gig, 12 hours by boat, was a great gig!
