I've really been getting into these two albums! The first Mimi & Richard Farina LP from 1965 (Celebrations For a Grey Day), and the second one with their names reversed as Richard & Mimi Farina from 1966 (Reflections in a Crystal Wind). Neither one fully grabbed me at first but I just keep listening to both of them just about every day... The second one is definitely better than the first. I can see why these albums did not really catch on in the 60s (or any other time), they are not really "grabby" but there's just something I find so pleasing and pleasant about them, I can just listen to them anytime over and over. Too bad Richard died before they went any further. |
