hm, both i guess !
i'm already more or less tired of festivals like the route du rock (annoying drunks ruining your favourites bands' show, my neighbors during yo la tengo were a special breed of pains in the butt) so dont get me started on the vc (or shouldnt it be wc ? ). i dont wanna be an elitist snob but i dont think i'll ever go there again. every year there are a few bands there i'd like to see, but does it mean i'm willing to endure 90% of crap, well i'm afrait not (have fun with johnny hehe). the other thing is that this is a way too big festival for me. i dont really like shows with so many people. and it reminds me of being crushed againstthe fences during louise attaque in1998 my body bent in half. dont get me wrong i have great memories too but it's just not my thing anymore.
and let's not say anything about placebo, it's for the best, hehe. |

i know exactly what you mean, but i heard it would be the only date in france (im talkin' about pixies of course, let's say that placebo is really not my cup of tea even if i think that brian seems to be a nice person, i dunno why but...i won't watch his show anyway)
so you were at the route du rock last year, i was there too... esp for yo la tengo...i guess you probably...hum surely.. got the bootleg... hehe...if not let me know!
i think we 're getting older, i used to love to go to belfort, reading, glasto etc.....but that's not for me anymore...i guess i'm tired of it...or tired of the audience.... _________________

well i dont know bout your age but i feel like i'm not a granfather at these kind of festivals ! but yeah i agree with you.
i actualy taped yo la tengo myself but i never got a decent recording at this festival ! and all those guys SHOUTING about pearl jam got on my nerves. their neil young cover was amazing !
did you enjoy the other bands ? i thought that the national delivered an awesome set even tho' it was so late (first time i stayed for a closing band at the rdr)
as for the pixies, yep, the vc festival has the exclusivity for france. |

well....i don't like to talk about my age...cuz it's depressing ....i'm 27...pouahhhhhh....but festivals are good when you're an "indie kid" i guess...... and i' m not a kid anymore...even if i'm eating candies right now, yeah at 2:30 am!
the sound of the bootleg i own is pretty lame too...ira kaplan is just a fucking genius at guitar and georgia.....maaan she can drums!!!!!i really heart'em!
i was there mostly for yo la tengo to be honest, so i left after the show...i had to found someone with a car to drive me back to my mum's, she lives in st malo and it's about to 10/15 km from le fort st père! so i could/ would not stay till the end! i did not really want to sleep in the pee, french fries, alcohol and vomit! _________________

i remember the campsite was REALLY quiet last year. nothing going on, kinda depressing...
so i'm glad to see that i still have two years of festival going before definitely hating it !
and hm, you forgot to mention master james mcnew !
i even think that dump's a grown ass man might be better than many ylt albums !
(dont hit !) |
