George Harrison worked on the song with Starr; perhaps out of solidarity as his own songs were often dismissed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Harrison commented: "'Octopus's Garden' is Ringo's song. It's only the second song Ringo has ever written, mind you, and it's lovely." He added that the song gets very deep into your consciousness "...because it's so peaceful. I suppose Ringo is writing cosmic songs these days without even realising it."[1]

Very funny, Adele fan.

By the way, since we're speaking of Beatles covers on Mojo cover-mounts, I've got a Beach Boys cover on the cover-mount CD of the new Mojo.

(Not necessarily saying this as an advertisement for buying the new issue of Mojo, the songs will probably be findable on youtube

I've heard the pet sound cover cd when it got out, i so hated it, the god only knows cover was awfull and most of the cd was really bad, only a couple of descent covers on it in my opinion.
the madcaps laughts cover lp from mojo was better.

Most of those Mojo covers CDs are bad! In fact most covers are bad in general!
The most interesting thing to me is to hear ORIGINALS of songs that are more famous in the cover versions... like when there are compilations of original versions of songs covered by the Grateful Dead or Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones etc... one of the best ever is the compilation CD of original versions of songs that were covered by the Fall!

It's a fantastic and varied collection of songs - just a good mix CD even if you don't know the Fall's cover versions.
