Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard East Coast US tour in April?
Looks like there's a possibility of some East Coast US dates with me, Jack and Dave in early April... We're playing "Rock Beyond Belief" festival in Fort Bragg, North Carolina (with Spoonboy) on April 2, and maybe at Bard College in upstate NY around April 8 (date unconfirmed)... so we'll probably be looking to add a few shows inbetween (maybe places like Richmond, Washington DC, Baltimore, etc, if anybody has any tips/suggestions?).
More info as it all shapes up!

Might I reccommend a trip to Buffalo or Rochester? I'm not sure how large your fanbase is here, but I'd love to see you live. I never really get a chance to travel for shows, or else I'd head over to Bard College to see you. I hope to see you here man. |

Hi I.D.E.!
I feel like I play Buffalo and Rochester sort of frequently actually, at least once a year for a few years now! Last time I was in Buffalo was at that place Sugar Land or Sugar Space or something like that... cool print gallery collective place... and I've played the Bug Jar in Rochester a bunch of times, as well as some house shows and other stuff - it's a long way to drive from New York City but if I do go up north there I usually play Buffalo/Rochester/Ithaca or something like that. And often it is with Dufus/Seth Quankmeyer, since he's been based up there for a while. Another good thing about upstate NY is that there's lots of college campuses so sometimes I can get university shows at Syracuse or other such places - currently Iv'e got something booked at Vassar and something booked at Bard, but nothing further north than that... there's a barn space in Oswego that I've played before, I've been emailing with them about maybe doing something there this year, but nothing definite yet.
As always, lemme know if there's anybody whose email address I should keep handy for setting up shows in any of those areas, the more contacts I have the easier it is for me to route a tour!
More info on all this as it shapes up!!! |

I unfortunately don't know any good contacts up here for you. I know members from some of the prominant local indie bands (some pretty well), but that's it. Dufus I am vaguely familiar with - I had a music teacher in middle school who would play percussion for them sometimes when they were in Buffalo. That would be neat to see you with them sometime. Anyway, I hope I get the chance to catch one of your shows soon. |

Here's what we're looking at so far for this mini-tour, the first American shows for the regular Jeffrey Lewis & the Junkyard band since last October:
Tues March 29 - hoping for Baltimore? DC?
Wed March 30 - hoping for DC? Virginia?
Thu March 31 - offer for Greenville, NC (with Paleface), unconfirmed
Fri April 1 - offer for Durham, NC, unconfirmed
Sat Aprl 2 - Rock Beyond Belief fest is now CANCELLED! Seeking a show...
Sun April 3 - Baltimore/DC?
Mon April 4 - Day off back home in NYC?
Tues April 5 - ?
Wed April 6 - Bard College, NY
Thu April 7 - Vassar College, NY
Fri April 8 - maybe a NYC show
Sat April 9 - Jeff has a table at MoCCA indie comic convention in NYC
Sun April 10 - Jeff has a table at MoCCA indie comic convention in NYC
I didn't realize just how weak my show-booking contacts have become for the DC/Baltimore area, but I just got a pile of new contacts from a list that Seth of Dufus put together, so hopefully something will be possible to book.
More info as it comes!

Possibly pittsburgh? Pittsburgh never gets any good shows. I've probably only been to 4 or 5 concerts since the new year, and the only one that i'm kinda excited for that's coming up is the mountain goats on april 12th. Please consider it!
Also, I'm almost positive I can get you a contact / phone number for a place called garfield artworks. It's real low-key (really really small venue), but it's possible to get a somewhat large crowd in (30 - 50 people tops, and that'd be a sold out show; although honestly i can't imagine garfield artworks ever selling out a show). I definitely recommend it, they always have real weird artists play and have cool art hanging on the walls. Or there are some other local (much larger) venues like rex theater in the south side, mr small's fun house in millvale (right outside of pittsburgh), or the altar bar is always having concerts (please no 21+ though hahaha!)
Hope you consider coming here, pittsburgh is a pretty neat place.

Sure, send me contact info for Pittsburgh! It's a it far away from NYC to drive out just for one show, but we've played Pittsburgh a few times on different tours, it's a good stop on the way west from NYC towards Ohio. |

Awesome! I'll definitely put together some e-mails or phone numbers. Should I just email them to you? I don't really want to put people's emails out on the internet without their permission so i guess i'll send you them that way. What email should i send it to?
This is awesome! :DDD |

Also, would you be interested in a house show haha? I know it's a ton to ask, but i can put the whole thing together. I'm in a band and know some local bands that would definitely play it, plus i can get as many people as i can to go to it, make flyers, the whole thing. if you don't want to i completely understand, but if you're coming to the pittsburgh area, i could totally get the ball rollin on that. We actually just did a house show a couple days ago and got a pretty decent turnout. Anyways if you are interested, just shoot me a line
And this would be in addition to the show at garfield or wherever, i don't want you to drive all the way down here just to do a house show hahaha
EDIT: Just sent you a PM with numbers and emails |
