My parents are going to London next month and i'm looking for an hotel for them, not too far away from the center, not too expensive, like 50/60 euros a night, anyone can help? _________________ http://uberaffe.bandcamp.com |

Hi Dav
Just in case a real Londoner doesn't manifest, the last couple of times I have stayed in London I have either taken a room in one of the LSE halls (out of term time only) which is one of the best ways to get a cheap, central stay in London. The halls have 24 hour security a shared kitchen and mostly communal washroom facilities (I even managed to get a parking space). Really pared down and I have to admit going off down a corridor to take a shower in what seemed like a large desolate building was a bit unsettling, but I think there are also a few rooms with en suite facilities. http://www.lsevacations.co.uk/
The next most reasonably priced place I have stayed centrally was the Arran House Hotel on Gower Street which is in the Bloomsbury District, a central literary area only moments away from Tottenham Court Road etc. I realise on saying this that a double room was getting on for about 100 euros. This is a beautiful old Georgian town house and again has a kitchen and garden (with resident rabbits hopping about) which guests can use and it was clean and perfectly nice.

We have also been fortunate enough to get a £1 room at the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch which is a trendy arts postcode these days, they have a regular (monthly?) £1 room sale when they let a certain number of rooms go for this price upwards. This is a nice contemporary hotel with all the expected amenities, bar, restaurant etc and great if you can get a bargain room otherwise a typically expensive city hotel. Worth registering for the above deal to find out when the next sale will be.

I hope this may be of some help! |
