I'm glad I listened to this to hear Jeff's songs because now I'll be listening to the show much more often.

Jeff played 4 songs, with an old banjo played by Henry [Something].

Pocahontas
Don't Seem Right (Holy Modal Rounders song)
song about a "worldwide fireside"
great song about The Renaissance and beyond

The music starts about 90 minutes in if you want to hear the show. Henry also plays a wonderful mesmerizing thing with his banjo around then too.

here it is, fresh off the upload:

Thank you for this download. Can't wait to hear it.

BTW - been wondering a while: is your name a Vonnegut reference or are you a fan of the band Granfalloon Bus? I'm hoping it's the latter because the former is way too post-modern for me to get my head around Smile

I am sad to say it is not. the name was kind of my way of being hesitant to join an online "community".... a granfalloon is a group of people who may get together but don't have any business thinking they go together. but that was back in 2007 when I was cynical and the internet was brand new!

anyway. if it would be better that I knew Granfalloon Bus... well, should I get to?

Haha! That's what I meant about the Vonnegut definition being too post-modern for me Smile As for Granfalloon Bus - I wouldn't necessarily bother. I like the 3 albums of theirs that I've got, but I'm not sure I could recommend them with any confidence.

this is tragic...

the songs I uploaded to mediafire are lost! I don't know if anyone else still has them, but it was a nice performance. the interview/radio chat was nice too.

It seems that a lot of things that used to be findable with MediaFire are now gone... a few years ago I could find a lot of rare out-of-print 1960s records that people would put on their blogs with MediaFire downloads, often taken right from the original vinyl. But now all of those links are dead! I guess it's good, when MediaFire was being used to bootleg full albums and things like that, but it is sad to miss all of those other recordings that are impossible to buy on albums, live recordings, out of print albums, where are they all now?

I had it tucked away in a corner but I found it. I forgot that the quality is 24kbps, so the four songs together are less than 3MB. I also had the full radio show saved, it somehow already feels like a relic from bygone days.

Twice the chance to not up and vanish. I have no idea why some things go down, non-commercial things.
