I actually went to the cinema for once and saw Inside Llewyn Davis, amazing film great soundtrack. I guess at least one other person from around here would have seen it and maybe liked it? I liked it anyway.
Lots of love to everyone xx

I didn't like it as much as I was hoping to... mostly because I thought the music was not so great, it was hard to tell which songs were supposed to be parodies and which songs were supposed to be for real! As far as Coen Brothers movies, it was not nearly as good as Burn After Reading, or Fargo, or Barton Fink, or Big Lebowski, etc... definitely one of their lesser films, among the ones I don't like as much (like The Man Who Wasn't There, and even A Serious Man which I didn't think was among their best)...
other thoughts on this one, anyone?

Thank you for sharing, I knew someone from here would have watched it as so many scenes resembled the will Oldham horror video you did. The cats were the best bit. But then what I think hardly matters, even my opinions are wrong, which can be the case as stupid me can't back them up. I can't even spell coen brothers half the time, better to ignore what I think.
One of those days/weeks/lives. If I had a gun I wouldn't think twice.

Hey Helen, of course what you think matters! As Kimya Dawson puts it: "To make this world work, it takes all different kinds. We all have different tastes, different strengths, different minds." Even if you can't back up your opinion it's still yours! Every opinion adds colour to the world, don't feel bad for liking something others don't like Smile God knows what I'm doing here on this forum if I stopped liking the music I listened to because people around me couldn't stand listening to it... And if you find out your opinion really was "wrong" because someone pointed you to things you hadn't noticed yet... just change it Razz Only douchebags will judge you for changing your opinion I've found.

Maybe I need to think of that a little more too, my fingers are hurting from biting off my nails way too far mulling over all the things I said while in the car with my driving instructor. I just feel so stupid and annoying when I think back on things I said, but that's mostly because this man is so different from most the people I know and hang around with... So I end up saying things that would be normal I think, and then judging from his reaction he thinks it's weird that I think so. And with most people you don't spend hours on end in a car together... While you are still fucking up seeing roads and stuff...
Funtimes...

You are too kind, really. Thank you for your time and words, and for generally being such a gentle and special person. The world needs more Laurageks.
Good luck learning to drive, I hope it's not as expensive to actually do as it is here! Don't worry about your driving instructor if you can, it sounds like he's a unique character and is probably not weirded out by you, we tend to be more anxious than necessary over things we believe that others are thinking about us. It sounds awkward but hey, you're paying him to teach you to drive, and don't need judgement in any other way!
I think you are really brave for even trying to learn to drive. I never do anything new because I can't stand failing so my life is one big routine. Hang on and soon you will be scooting round following the Lewis tour and in no need of an instructor!
Loads of love xxx

Had my first music related dream in ages last night, involving Malcolm Middleton in a shoe shop. I can't have been sleeping well for months, I can't seem to remember many dreams these days.

I never used to remember my dreams but I have been recently, and I have no idea why. Here's what's been happening in my dreams;

I dreamt someone shot me in the chest and I died. I just lead there going, oh, shit, I'm dead. That sucks. Then after awhile no one really did anything and I was still thinking so I figured I'd just get up, bandage myself up and go on with my day.

Then last night I dreamt that a good friend of mine kidnapped my daughter. That was pretty crazy.

Then after that I dreamt that a friend of mine who's just in the middle of a separation with his wife, brought a pornstar along to meet me for some drinks. Then his wife turned up and I had to pretend the pornstar was my girlfriend.

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN.

I went online last thing last night and checked the message board, and as a result (I think) when I actually got properly to sleep (it's really rather hot in my country) I had a dream that I was walking to my new school that turned out to be miles of walking through forests to a dance academy where it turned out Jeff was a student and we were friends with a French boy that sent me gifts in the post. It was a bit weird when we broke into some kind of contemporary dance routine like we were in Summer Heights High with Mr G or something.
I am feeling really sad and have been all day, I wasn't really sure if it was the result of the dream because I had no friends in it and am lonely in real life or because I'm an ex ballerina that misses dancing or something totally different or all of these things.

I'm good thanks - everything is on an even keel with is a pretty solid place to be. It's been quiet, but maybe we should be posting more to draw everyone in.

Incidentally, my dreams have stopped since I posted the last message, though I haven't been sleeping very well so there's been no time for dreams.

Which has led me to realise that coffee is the worst caffeinated beverage to keep you awake - it just fucks with your body too much. My solution was endless tea drinking - I believe the lower amounts of caffeine, consistently, steady the energy level. Whereas coffee sends it too high. That's what I've been doing.

I'm sorry you're feeling sad - it may be all, or none of those things. I'm sure we can do something about it though.

We should all post more....I often think about it, only to realise I have no idea what I'm on about and no one cares what I think anyway. It's not like I'm even vaguely connected to real life, or culture, or have any opinions that aren't just either recycled from someone cleverer than me or stupid because they're mine. I tend to stick to this thread when I can because then I know people can avoid me easier.
Poor you and your lack of sleep AFB, is it the heat? I have been affected by that. I often find myself drifting off on the sofa in the evening when trying to read, I feel tired but don't actually sleep well, it's odd. I hope you are in a good space mentally, it sounds like you are, and you get your dreams back soon.
I don't drink coffee, but I love the smell of it (last time I spoke with Jeff he smelled of coffee, it was divine) or tea, only green tea, which is less caffeine again. It's in foods too, and some painkillers. I make it a rule to have no caffeine at all for the last 10 hours I'm awake. Giving it up gives the worst headaches though, so I still have a few in the morning. But whatever works for you honey, so you get your fix but still sleep okay and aren't too jittery.
You are too kind, really.
I had a nightmare this morning, as I woke up at half 5 mid way through an alright dream, and went back to sleep for a bit as it was too early and I was still tired after going downstairs and trying to wake up. Stupid nightmares, I've been in a bad mood all day again, I think I'd have been in one anyway but it didn't help matters.
xxxx

I had another nightmare last night - my university had a big drunken riot and then there was an earthquake. All my dreams are about places of education... school has scarred me for life it seems.
I am far too stupid and uncool to have a facebook account but I went to the bands one tonight. It turns out that's where everything is happening, not here. I never realised. xx

I've been having a few nightmares in which I have big fights with my friends, or I just simply really disappoint them. A few nights ago I dreamt my granddad died from taking one paracetamol (Tylenol in other countries) and he puked and got weaker and weaker and it was just horrible to see. Sometimes it's hard to shake off a dream like that...
I hope I"ll be having some more cheerful dreams soon!

Poor you, it sounds like you wake up needing a hug, same as me. I am sorry I'm not there to do so, it's difficult isn't it, bad dreams affect me all day sometimes. Last night's nightmare was about food I think, it wasn't too intense.
Think pretty thoughts xxxx

There is definitely something to my theory that checking this message board and then going up to bed affects my level of Jeff dreaming. I had one last night, possibly also influenced by a chat with my friend in Glasgow about comics, which involved Jeff drawing a big comic and he put me in it and I was upset about how ugly I was in the drawings. He put it on the wall at the students union of my old university, randomly, haven't thought about that place in many years.
I'm currently unwell and illness turns me into a person I hate. I get all self pitying and feel sorry for my levels of physical pain and am not productive enough. Then I think too much and have no distractions from the psychological stuff, and my to do list gets ever longer. Hate it.
xx
