|
|
Every year for the past few years I go away for a long week end camping with my friends, the highlight for me is always sitting around the camp fire as the night draws in chatting and drinking with my friends, this is also the time I tend to get my guitar out.
The only problem is not everyone that I go with has the same taste in music or knows every Jeff lewis song as I do (which are usually the first things I think to play) so this year I thought Id make an effort and ask you all to suggest good campfire songs which are more universally known and everybody can enjoy, I might take a uke with me but im not very proficiant so songs that work with just an acoustic guitar and some vocals, hand clapping etc is pretty much what we're after, I'm not sure I'll really be able to capture any Zombie Zombie tunes!(sadly) _________________

pixies songs are great to play on guitar, wave pictures too, even if hard to sing, in my opinion...some good ol' beck...the kinks, the beach boys...maybe you can try to add a couple of your own songs. _________________ http://uberaffe.bandcamp.com |

All good sugestions, many of my favorite artist - I was thinking some wave picture (oddly I find it quite easy to sing, I think it must suit my voice!)
But not all good artists songs make good camp fire songs so I'm after specific song suggestions to try out......... _________________

Well if I went with my suggestion of Dylan I'd HAVE to suggest a full-length version of Hurricane! |
