I'm reading "Eisner Miller" at the time, the book is conversations between Eisner and Frank Miller, it's pretty good, i learn a lot about comic book history in the US, also it has rare illustrations and all kind of cool things. Eisner was a pionner in the comic book history, Miller is/was new blood and it's interesting to see how these two artists have a very different view of comic books, comic books industries etc....
Any of you recommand any other book like this one ? _________________ http://uberaffe.bandcamp.com |

some i've read and liked :
- the scott mcloud ones about making comic books, understanding comic books and so on...i don't agree with everything he says but it's great to read
- there's also 'désoeuvré" by Lewis Trondheim which is a small comic book essai about the ones who make comic books
- some interesting things in joan sfar "carnet" but it's mostly a few pages here and there _________________ http://www.myspace.com/lapinmachin

I saw this in Travelling Man while I was getting the new Jeffrey Brown book today
This Book Contains Graphic Language: Comics as Literature
I had a bit of a flick through and it seemed pretty good.
I also picked up the first issue of Comic Book Comics which seems like a good read, the history of comics as a light hearted comic. |
