The London show last night was fantastic (after the initial hiccup of going the wrong way out of out street station - they need better road signs round there!!)
It was the 3rd time Ive seen Misty's big adventure and standing there i was surprised to realize it was the first time I'd seen them in london - the crowd clearly enjoyed them judging by the cheering between songs but you'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise going by the motionless glum faces ( must be the crowd Cargo attracts i guess - to cool to dance ) despite 'Erotic Volvo's best attempts there were 3 people dancing, Me, some girl next to me and Jack who I noticed grooving away over the other side (At this point I should mention for all those of you shocked and out raged by its absence on recent tours that Jack's moustache is back and bigger that ever! )
After a very leisurely set up ( I'm moaning cos my feet were hurting and I didn't want to leave my spot right by the stage cos it was packed and I wouldn't have got back ) The Band took to the stage and I was a great set, Jeff interrupted the audience chatting amongst themselves by going straight into
Sex Therapist
then (not exactly in this order as I'm doing this from memory) the played
Do they Owe Us a living
I ain't thick, Its just a trick
banned from the Roxy
Don't let the record label take you out o lunch
The Singing tree
End Result
- A new Jack song I hadn't heard before !!!
The last Time I did acid I went insane
which got to the trippy bit and went into
Disconsolate
Wait it out
Systematic Death
Walls
where next columbus (I think this was played)
Bugs & Flowers
the low budget vids
History Of communism - China
and
Champion Jim
were projected onto a big projector screen behind the stage
the band left the stage but the audience didn't and called out for more resulting in a rare encore, first Jeff returned on his own amidst a mass of requests before he finally decided to play
Heavy Heart
then Jack and Dave returned (Jack asked if anyone had stolen their money from the merch' table - i hope it turned up guys ) ) and what an encore!
Time Machine
Journey to the centre of the earth
texas
Probably theres songs Ive missed, definitely that wasn't the exact order they were played in but it was something like that.
various gossip picked up;
Helen isn't planning on joining the band full time its been purely a crass tour thing and she doubts she'll be on the next tour - though she's promised to visit
... this led to the question whats to become of the crass songs after this tour? will they be retired? ............. Jeff's answer - God only knows!
this tours been very independent they've rented a car and poor old Dave is doing all the driving. Having driven the band on 2 tours and never once since Dave awake when we've been on the road I imagine this has been a rude awakening specially since this little 'under the radar tour' hasn't been that under the radar after all and they've been doing one radio show and in store appearance after another so between that and having to get places in time for sound checks its sounding as exhausting as the 6 week tour!
thats all I can think of for now other than to say _________________
