Best weekend of music of my life. One of the best times of my life.
So many stories. It takes about 2 hours to tell everything, but basically.

Met Nick on the Saturday (Jeff and the Jitters played on Sunday) and had a hoot. Spoke to Jack and Dave during Danielson (who were pretty good). Ended up going to see the amazing ZOMBIE ZOMBIE, Neman Herman Dune's electro noise (or something) side project, with David-Ivar playing madolin. It was lovely. In a big group at the front was me, Rhiannon (fabalbert), Nick (Will Oldham), Jeff, Jack, Dave, Helen and The Baby Skins (Angela and Crystal). There was a lot of dancing and pie eating.

Anyyyway, after a wonderful night (in which I don't think the band got much sleep, mainly because they were given tents, but NO SLEEPING BAGS!?!?!), they played at 2.45 on the second biggest stage.
As with the NYC shows, they started with a load of Crass songs (about 2/3 of the set). It was absolultely amazing. I can't wait for October 1st!!!

After the Crass songs, Jack says "Does anyone want to come up and play percussion?". For some reason, I'd been carrying around various percussion all weekend (mainly my green egg shaker) so hopped on stage and played either a new song I'd never heard or a Crass song (I couldn't really hear the lyrics).
I went to get off stage off that, but dave threw me something to shake for the next song, so I guess I had to stay up there. Wink
So, I shook and sang on No LSD Tonight:

After that, I jumped down and they played Moving and Williamsberg Will Oldham Horror.
For the last song they played Kids On Tour, a few seconds in, I remembered the shaker part in the first verse. It seemed rude not to climb back on stage.

Anyway, it was a great show. I hope I didn't ruin it for anyone!

Absolutely amazing weekend. One of my best. Probably second best weekend ever (definitely top 3). My only criticisms of the ENTIRE festival were that
a) It was a little chilly (what can they do about that) and
b) The pie shop was sold out by sunday morning.

Literally, other than that, NO FAULTS.

As for the JLB's set, I really enjoyed it. I loved all the Crass songs (Helen has a wonderful voice, especially when she sings with Jeff), and it was nice to see Nic get up there and boggie. A little odd though.

The sunday night extravaganza was another highlight. Such a bloody great weekend.
