It made me really sad when he was saying about how hard it was to make the best of himself and to do the best that he can with the tools that he has. His music and comics are really amazing and nothing really matters apart from that. He won't be "ripping off" his fans he doesn't do (what he believes to be) the absolute best he can muster. _________________ Life is too short to refrain from eating jam out of the jar |

Hey Thelma, thanks for this found!
I agree with Rhiannon... he certainly doesn't ripping us off!fact ! and seriously, Jeff shouldn't even bother to worry about us or about our expectations, he should just keep doing what he really wanna do, and anyway... there will always be people who'll like what he's doing if he stays true to himself. that's all that really matters. _________________

I really didn't understand why he thought he might be ripping people off. With all the free downloads we've had, who's the rip off after all? If Jeff had been living in the times of Elvis, he would be driving a pink cadillac by now. But instead, he's sleeping on floors and playing free or inexpensive gigs. Glad he has more money to put into production, but that means more musicians, more machines, more to share the profits with. In the comments, I wrote something about keeping it simple, and told everybody to get Tapes from the Crypt, the most low fi CD, something I like to play and make other people listen to. |

Such a great interview. He's always seemed to think about everything he does, waaaay more than most people do.
What he says about how Daniel Johnston showed him is exactly what I felt the first time I heard him.
And he works far too hard to rip us off. He tours more than anyone else I know doesn't put out crap for the sake of it and seems to find time for us lesser beings. No way is that a rip off! _________________ myspace.com/frozymusic |
