Now I know that previous project haven't got as far as we might have hoped and I've been partly to blame for not getting round to doing my bit to help the cause but anyway,
I was driving home the other night in a van with no radio and i got to thinking of things that might be fun for us to do, heres a few ideas, i had let me know of your thoughts;

I was thinking mostly along the song writing lines. we could all think of song ideas then we have to give that idea to one of the other board members to write a song about ( we could put all the ideas in a hat and draw them at random - then maybe you could all send your songs to me and i'll up it here as an album for us to all enjoy

or we could have a weekly/monthly contest where each week one of us suggests a song idea we all try and write a song for it ( maybe put all that week/months song on the myspace page) and we could have a poll to vote for our favorites ( no voting for yourself)

or if some of us have songs we've written that the others haven't heard we could give the lyrics to the rest of the board for them to record their version of the song then when all the versions are in we put them up on myspace along with the original

what do you think? anyone got any other ideas?

I already did this once with Kieron, he sent me the chords and lyrics to one of his tune (that i haven't heard) and i made a song with it.

Thats absolutely great Nick! I'm trying to write, sing and record way more at the moment and I love getting given ideas or titles to write about.
And I'll do stuff this time. Wink

That was my thinking, half the battle is thinking of something to write a song about, this way we have a subject and you have to stick to it though you can put what ever twist on it you want

I was thinking we just send the lyrics, no chords then we're not influenced with the sound at all, what do you think?

its sounding like the hat idea then so shall we all try that? before we start does anyone have any thoughts on what a ' song idea' should consist of? shall we just submit titles or should we set a scene?

i'd like it more with lyrics and chords
then the changes would be in rythm and melody, and it's also faster and easier to do than to compose a whole song, if you wanna do it once a week or so...
which doesn't mean one cannot change the chords at some point if one feel so

I agree with Joe, drop a few chords, some lines and see what people can get out of it

Hey dav, i wanna copy of this song! i never even put music to it myself!

but yeah, this is a good idea. we don't have to write all the lyrics, and whoever receives them can add/change them. i guess i'll go with any idea!
