Have you already heard (of) Zaïreeka?
It's a 1997 "concept" album from one of my fave band, The Flaming Lips. It's split in four cds so that you can play a set of cds simultaneously on different sound sources. To start each cds at the same times, you have to get some friends, so it's by design a collective experience. Since it's near to impossible to get the tracks stay in sync, and because the band messed a lot with rythm, you get to hear a great depth of music and noise, and feel a wide range of feelings. I only listened to it twice in full condition, and with the other listeners, we still discuss it today as a very special and memorable experience. _________________ Free signature offer at the Jeff Lewis Message Board!

I dont know a lot about the flaming lips I did buy the 'yosimi battles the pink robots' album but other than the singles I wasn't a hugh fan . Ive heard various songs and live sessions by them on the radio though and they've always been very listenable |

Yeah, "Yoshimi battles the pink robot" is a very good starting point. It's very representative and accessible (but still totally weird).
After that, you can start time travelling back to "the soft bulletin", and continue to "clouds taste like metal" or "transmission from satellite heart". All good.
Or you can even wait for their new LP which is coming out pretty soon (at least I hope so) _________________ Free signature offer at the Jeff Lewis Message Board!

finding this quadruple cd is a pain in the ass and if you do, then you have to get four cd players ! do they think their fans are millionaires ?
personally i'm not a great fan of the lips, even though i enjoy transmission from the satellite heart muchly... |

Well... i had my pc, and my cd-player plugged in my tv, and I had two friends with some cd players and portable speakers of very low quality. We decided to change cds for the low quality speakers after 1mn, and after that it went mesmerizing. Synchronization was very frustrating for me, but apparently a lot of fun for my friends. I guess the most difficult thing is to have enough electric plugs, some space (moving while listening is an experience), and the most important, understanding neighbors. _________________ Free signature offer at the Jeff Lewis Message Board!

Yeah! I hope so!
Ah... the fun of the thin walls and doors... I'm glad i finally got an appartment where I can make some really loud noises and still be considered by my neighbors. _________________ Free signature offer at the Jeff Lewis Message Board!
