the lyrics your friend have put into your mind are taken from the natural bridge. this album is really good, [but] very minimalist (very clean guitar, bass, drums and of course david berman's voice).

american water is the album you could start with : it has very catchy songs (thanks to pavement's frontman Stephen Malkmus i guess), and you'll find lyrics in there which will also blow your mind.....

here i stop being objective (you're warned) : every silver jews album is damn good, you could start anywhere (ok, maybe not the last one...).

cool, I'll see whats available at my new local library. i had bought a ticket for the green man festival where they're playing, but i can't go. apparently silver jews playing live is quite a rare thing

I agree with Azoun, american water is the best one to start, and the best one too imo, and yes, thanks to Malk, the song "Night Society" is very very good !

i can't really choose ten albums...too hard...but it's very similar to dav ...Obviously!
i'd say by artists...that i really respect for their talent in muzzzick (mostly guitar, i'm a guitar lover, heh)

syd barrett, jeff lewis, jack lewis, pavement, pixies, my bloody valentine, eels, dinosaur jr, the beach boys, yo la tengo, graham coxon!

yeah, i can't count! Laughing Rolling Eyes
