I got back from Greece the sequel on Sunday night. I missed home but had a good time as well. There were too many other people around though in our group and I managed to fall out with many of them. What's a holiday without some drama? I went to a place in literally the middle of nowhere called Leonidio and also back to Athens where I went to the same museum as last year and found a vegan cafe. Back to work tomorrow which I'm looking forward to and just loads of cleaning and laundry keeping me busy.
Hope everyone is feeling good x _________________ You don’t put your life into your books. You find it there. |

I've still never been to Greece! Jealous of your journeys! I'm in Lowell Massacusettes... significantly less scenic... tho it's the hometown of Jack Kerouac! But there's no recognition of that here... no plaque or statue or anything... i think they're ashamed of him! But I bet in Greece they probably show some pride for Homer and stuff... |

They certainly do! Even in Britain we put up a blue plaque, if nothing else, depends how famous you are I suppose. I know Kerouac was a bit of a controversial figure but he contributed significantly to modern classic literature and didn't kill anyone so he deserves a little tourist spot of his own there. Over here we are always trying to work out whether to take down statues of people that we now consider to have done unacceptable things, Kerouac wasn't that bad even if you aren't keen on his stuff! _________________ You don’t put your life into your books.
