I've been waiting for them to release the day tickets for the Cardiff gig, I'm not sure I will survive somewhere like that all day but I will try.

It's impossible to navigate that wales goes pop site! buying tickets is so difficult! I wonder if they will let me buy one on the day or something, maybe I'll have time to go down there and buy one.

I left my house to go to the Cardiff gig but never actually made it. I was meant to be this wonderful person but it hasn't really happened and I got too upset. I know it is bad because Jeff and the band won't come if people like me don't come in to the gigs and pay money for things so I feel awful. Next time I will do better if I'm lucky enough to get another chance.
I have been playing lots of old Jeff Lewis songs this week as I've been doing my cleaning, it's been great to remember them after a few months of not playing them. The old stuff sounds so different. I was wondering - does the man still scream Jeff? Or did you just move away?!

Good reportage on the York gig! Yeah the first song was a Fall song, "Blindness".
York was definitely one of the better gigs on the tour, I love that venue. Cardiff was a bit rough i thought... the festival situation usually means you don't get a soundcheck, you just get on stage and hope everything works, but this is especially difficult when it is the first gig of the tour! Because when you first unpack the gear and cables and stuff after the flight, that's when you find out which stuff is broken, or which stuff you forgot at home, plus the guitar usually has a hard time feeling properly in tune right after a flight... Plus I'M usually feeling pretty zonked right after an overnight flight, not enough sleep, head still clogged up from the pressurized chamber, all of that stuff! The first gig on any tour can be tough, but when the first gig is a festival it is extra-difficult.
Basically the York gig that Ian saw was one of the better gigs on the tour, I thought, and the Cardiff festival gig that Helen missed was not one of the better gigs of the tour! At least that's how it felt on stage. Always hard to know how it is coming across out in the room.
