Hey Dav (or anybody), do you know the exact date when the Message Board went online? I am trying to put together the album-packaging for the LP release of City & Eastern Songs (first time on vinyl), and on part of the insert I want to have a list of all the gigs and events in the period 2005-2006 when the album was recorded and released, and I realized this was also the time when the Message Board started, I think some day in November 2005?

If you joined on the 21st November 2005 then I presume that was around the day/day after it was started? I guess you must have been one of the very first members? Maybe you don't remember exactly.

Also, here's a philosophical question... should I "fix" stuff on City & Eastern Songs before making this reissue? For example, there are some places where the vocals seem too quiet to me, when hearing it now. I'm very tempted to make a couple changes, but then when I hear about people changing album for the reissue it always annoys me. When Richard Hell "fixed" the guitar playing for the reissue of Destiny Street, I felt like i had no interest in hearing this new version of the album, I wanted to only hear the "real" album, as it was originally released, even if HE thought the revised version sounded better.
I guess I'm not thinking of doing anything radically different, I'm not going to erase or re-record parts. Although I;m tempted to do that too!

My vote would go to do not change it !
It could be a cool thing as a bonus disk or something like that, just my two cents. I guess you were liking it the way it was when you first put it out? As long as you don't George Lucas it...

Exactly, your "George Lucas" comment is totally what I mean. You're right.

I think it depends what you hear first. I know the 'original' one and have played it many times, to me that's what it sounds like and it would feel wrong to hear it changed. My relationship with the songs wouldn't change though. Sometimes you hear a live version of a song with changed lyrics it just takes a while to get used to it and then it's okay. So I think it depends how major the changes are, would I even notice a bit of louder singing? I doubt it!
