I've been listening to the latest Lou Barlow LP, it's really cool, unique way of writing songs and playing guitar. I recommend it.

I'm listening to The Pinguins in my car today, smooth and full of harmonies, good balance to a rainy drive

I didn't know there was a new Lou Barlow, maybe I'll get to check it out!
I got the new Yo La Tengo album, which is nice...
Hmm, what have I been listening to... not much, since i've been on the road most of this month!
We had a very good gig with the band OKVancouverOK in Cologne the other night, I really like their music a lot, have played with them in the past in various places. I got one of their albums a while ago but it sounded different from their live show and I liked their live show better... But they have other albums I haven't heard... Check them out if you can!

I still haven't replaced my broken stereo, I just can't find what I want. I can play vinyl through it, but CDs are for the playstation and car only, and other than that it's the radio or youtube on the ipad so I can carry it around and sing while I do my endless cleaning.
As I clearly aren't as cool or interesting as anyone else here I have mostly been playing the same old stuff, lots of 80s dark pop and beautiful songs about sad people by more unhappy people. I did spend more time than is probably necessary trying to learn the dance from Thinking out Loud the Ed Sheeran video (I'm an ex-ballerina) but it was virtually impossible without a partner and the song ended up getting stuck in my head for about two weeks to the point I never wanted to hear it again so gave up. I often like to learn the dances to pop songs, it's one of my strange little things, dancing makes me forget about things that shout at me in my head and like singing even though I am not any good I can't hurt anyone doing it in my own home on my own. x
Sorry that I can't be more hip and tell you all about some great band somewhere.
x

Mmh, I didn't mean to be hip or cool by sharing music here - I just liked that band and thought somebody else might like it as well. I found so much great music here that I didn't know before because someone shared it - I really like that and wanted to contribute something, too. I am sorry if it made you feel uncool or bad, Misshelenc! (If I got that right? I'm not a native speaker - sorry also if I didn't find the right words....). Would be great to know what beautiful songs about sad people you were listening to, if you want to tell. Kind regards. Line

It's okay Linomat nothing personal! I love reading all the interesting things everyone writes here and adore all of you. I always feel uncool and bad, it's nothing to do with you or your actions. You go ahead and post what you like (within the rules of the forum) and teach me all about music! I used to be good at finding little known bands and be all active about it but I suppose that was mostly when I was younger and had less responsibilities to eat up my time. Great English, by the way. You write better than most native UK educated people.
Dav you're right Pornography is a great album, I've loved it for years too. Good choice. The old stuff is always the best!
