i love gogol bordello, theyre definitely gaining popularity and i really think they deserve it, they are opening the door for a lot of gypsy-rock and balkan-rock bands. another great up and coming band is japanther, from brooklyn NY, they have the low-fi sound like the moldy peaches but much faster!

I really like the childballads. That's the new band with Stewart Lupton that used to be the singer in Jonathan Fire Eater

Pants Yell! are pretty cool too.

I bought their cd 'the solar hi-fi system' and id recomend it highly though i cant quite compare to the live specticle of there show! Im still meaning to go to another of their gigs

I don't know if this was for the whole tour, but when I saw Jeff, Grandmaster Gareth from Misty's Big Adventure was playing that weird electronic stick thing. I've listened to quite a bit of MBA since then and really loved it.
Giant Drag are a great new band, I've been into them for a while, so seeing them with Jeff was pretty special.
And Mystery Jets are great.

I believe Grandmaster Gareth has just released a solo album but I'm yet to hear it

He has indeed. I'm not sure how recent it is. I've heard a few songs on myspace and it was pretty good.
