|
|
I'm pleased to say I've finally fulfilled a life-long ambition of mine, and I am now the proud owner of a Rom Spaceknight toy! I've wanted this since 1979... the toy was a commercial failure when it was first released in 1979 and quickly vanished from stores, but the comic book that was based on the toy became my favorite comic book for its whole run of 1979-1986... and the early issues of the comic has these advertisements for the toy that made it look so cool! Of course the toy is not really all that cool, but it's a dream come true for me, can't believe I've finally got one! In fact I think I enjoy this thing now more than I would have if I had gotten it when I was 5 years old. |

Aww little Jeff, that makes me smile!
Has anyone else ever achieved a long existing dream from childhood into adulthood? I have thought a lot about it and don't think I have.

I guess getting a simple plastic toy is easier to accomplish than getting a pony or a farm or becoming an astronaut or other childhood dreams! |

A childhood dream is a childhood dream though, right? Still just as joyful to achieve! I've never had many achievements generally that I've wanted to reach, but the main one is to write something substantial, like a novel or something, even if it doesn't get published... But obviously that hasn't happened yet, I get through all of about a page before chucking it out. Still, potentially I will live for many more years, lots of time for writing. x _________________ You don’t put your life into your books. You find it there. |
