my boss ds-1 is a nice pedal, it worked pretty well with my nylon-stringed, picked-up acoustic. i must find that pick-up! |

The DS-1s are ok, but to be honest sound a little too cheap for my tastes. They're inexpensive, but my personal favorite is an MXR Distortion + (m-104). A bit more money, but it's worth it. OCD Overdrive pedals are really nice too. Another good one is a boss CS3 compression sustainer. I'm not sure what kind of sound you're looking for, but if you want distortion, and a louder / brighter sound, check out these pedals, especially the CS3. Just a head's up, if you get all three, it'll set you back a few hundred. Check out local stores, I got my CS3 for only $30 used, and it goes for about $100 online.
Although honestly, I'm not entirely sure they're good for acoustic. I use these for bass (and no, I'm not in a metal band haha) Again, it depends on what kind of sound you want. |
