I'm working on putting together a special sorta "folk duo" thing in January, the "Jeffrey Lewis & Peter Stampfel" show! Peter and I have done a few of these sorts of shows over the years in NYC, it's been a dream of mine to try to make it happen in more places. Nothing confirmed yet... still just in the talking/emailing stages, but I know that Peter is into doing it in January, so I'm working on it. Will keep you posted...

Woah. That would be amazing.
If you do, I hope you make it all the way to Ohio so Irina can see you both, even if I wont be able to make it. Good luck with it!

I didn't expect this to be in the UK! I never thought I'd get the chance to see Peter play. Thanks so much for arranging this, Jeff.

I'll see you at the Windmill, as ever. I might try and make it to another one, seeing as Peter doesn't get out here so often.
It's strange, I was on a massive Holy Modal Rounders and Fugs binge this past week.
Also, enjoy the show with Faust! I saw them play last year. The loudest show I've ever seen. Even if it's just two of them, it's still great fun.

Yes, the UK tour now is finally all confirmed! In fact, Peter and I just recorded an album together, which I hope I can have manufactured in time to have copies available on the tour.

January 2011 - UK tour of "The Jeffrey Lewis & Peter Stampfel Folk Band"!

Peter Stampfel is a US national treasure! The main dude of the 60s/70s psych/folk legends the Holy Modal Rounders! A renowned expert on folk music, comic books and bottle caps! The Grammy-winning author of the liner notes for the Smithsonian Folk Anthology box set (and for the Karen Dalton reissue series)! The star of the documentary film "Bound To Lose"! Musical collaborator with Gary Lucas, Yo La Tengo, and the Fugs! He recorded the first Holy Modal Rounders album the day before JFK's assassination! Don't miss this perhaps once in a lifetime event, Jeffrey and Peter together on stage trading songs and more... (with special guest Franic of the Wave Pictures on mandolin)

Tues Jan 18 - London (Brixton Windmill)
Wed Jan 19 - Cambridge - Green Mind @ The Haymakers
Thurs Jan 20 - Birmingham (Actress & Bishop)
Fri Jan 21 - Exeter (venue name tba)
Sat Jan 22 - Bristol (Cafe Kino)
Sun Jan 23 - Norwich (Norwich Arts Center)
Mon Jan 24 - Leicester (Musician)
Tues Jan 25 - Coventry (Taylor John's)
Wed Jan 26 - Leeds (Brudenell Social Club)

I got some tickets for me and some friends for the Bristol show yesterday. Very excited. My favourite thing about this tour? The short amount of time between tickets going onsale and the actual show - it's less than 3 weeks away!

Luckily, I found it. It had been put in the washing up bowl on top of the fridge, obviously. I should have looked there first because that's where I keep all my other important stuff: car keys, passport, my first born child.

Anyway - it turned out even better because a friend of mine called me at lunchtime saying he had a spare ticket because someone bailed on him and he didn't want it to go to waste so I ended up going to both. 80% different set list too which was amazing.

I've just read on the Mono website that tickets for the Glasgow show is sold out. I'm gutted, was planning on travelling through for it after work hoping that I'd be able to get a ticket on the door. If anyone here's going, I'd love one of the new cds he's selling...
