hey folks,

just came back from the show in Paris...

I recorded it, that's a the good news.... i missed the begining of the jack+dihd+omé set (i was only able to start my recording in the middle of the first song :-/)

didn't record this is a kit...

guess i've got the whole jeffrey set in the box.... unless they made a second encore, in which case i missed it as i went out running for the last train back to my suburbs...

the band played a really heavy set, and a part of the audience was dancing/fighting just as if being in the middle of a rough punk show (which was quite weird). At one time Jack asked them to calm down, as they were scaring the other part of the audience !

i'll keep you informed when the show is ready for your ears Very Happy .

i have the full opening set by jack, dihd & omé. i was right up front so no crowd noise/interference.

my md cut off before the encore on jeff's set though, so i only have about 70-75min of that set.

are you planning on uploading that show in lossless somewhere (like dime a dozen?)

well i'll seed the show on Dime if you want me to Wink

here's how i work with my recordings : i always keep my master MD of the show, also keep the WAV encoding (i've got a couple of big hard drives), and make a mp3 encoding (@192 or 256 kbps), which i make available on soulseek. If i put a torrent on Dime, it will be in SHN (encoded from the WAV of course).

to be exhaustive, when i make a big zip file for yousendit or megaupload, as well as when i post a song on my blog, i reencode it (from the WAV file) in mp3 [128 kbps].

now everybody knows what he gets from me Smile just tell me what you people prefer (i know that not everybody cares about lossless)

in fact you just need to ask, if you've got a slow connection i'll even send through classic mail a cd or 2 full of music.

oh, and the show should be ready tomorrow (or tonight...)

don't worry, azoun's already PMd me & we'll work something out so as to get the full show upped somewhere.
be patient: the show was only last night & it finished super late so some of us (suburbans) have had very little sleep (me: maybe 2 or 3 hours, tops).

At the windmill gig, there was a bunch of guys getting really carried away as well, we were all getting into the punkier side of the show but jeff did calm it down with a few folkiers songs and it struck me at he time that it was for this reason

i'm pretty sure it's the same 2-3 guys that fucked around at the previous FMR show. they were really drunk both times & kept yelling at everyone for not dancing/moshing & got really rough in the pit.
imo, it's totally ridiculous behaviour in the context of a jeff lewis show, especially considering that his loudest/punkiest songs are really not *that* hard. also, people who were close to these fuckheads got pushed around a lot & there were a lot of girls up front who looked pretty terrified. jack even asked them to stop because they were scaring everyone else (but they didn't cool down very long)

who said that paris crowds are always sleepy at shows ? Laughing
i swear, this kind of behaviour usualy makes me feel like being violent with this kind of fuckers. i was actualy quite surprised that the show went smoothly at the mondo bizarro since last time i went there (for a drones show) the place was packed with annoying drunks.

I agree it does seem bizarre, were they actually Jeff Lewis fans or just some drunk guys that happened to be there on that night?
