saw someone on the lyrics page requested this. here's my go.
(P)=pull off
(h)=Hammer on
(s)=slide
Intro picked bit
e|---------------------
b|----------------------
g|---------------------
d|----------0--0--------
a|--0--2-------------
E|--------------------------
then the rest of the song is this
e|----2--------------------------------------|--0-----------------------------
b|----3--------------------------------------|--1------------------------------
g|----2--------------------------------------|--0--------------0-(H)-2-----------------
d|----0---2 -(P) 0-----------------0----2-|--2----2-(P)-0------------0---2--------------
a|---------------------0--(H) 2------------|--3------------------------------
E|-------------------------------------------|-------------------------------
e|---3------------------------------------------|--2--------------------------------------------
b|---3------------------------------------------|--3-----------------------------------------------
g|---0------------------------------------------|--2-------------------------------------------
d|---0----------------0-(H)-2-----------------|--0-------2-(P)-0------------------0-----2----
a|---2----2-(P)-0--------------2-(P)--0-----|-------------------------0-(H)-2---------------
E|---3------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------
so this is basically the notes. when i play it i try and hold the chord shape while i do the hammers ons & pull offs so when you pick other strings i'm still playing the chord.
and i think the middle bit when the lyrics go "and man it's so existential .." goes. . .
e|----------------------------------------|-------------------|-------------------------------
b|----------------------------------------|-------------------|---------------------------------
g|------0---------------------0----------------------------- |--------2------2--------2-----2-------
d|---2------2--2-(S)--4--------4-----| 3 times then |---0------0---------0------0---
a|----------------------------------------|-------------------|---------------------------
E|----------------------------------------|-------------------|--------------------------------- |

no problem man, i was pretty sure my picking bit wasn't completely right but thought it'd be close enough for people to play around with it and get closer than me. the middle bit is really diffficult to make out as well, so your guess is as good as mine (or probably better). |

I've been trying to figure out this song too, as I find it amazingly beautiful.
Will's version is quite close to what Jeff plays I think.
This can help :

rachel, i think it would go d, c, g, d, going on those tabs. i've never actually learnt to play this even though it's one of my fav songs! (and i want it played at my funeral) |
