Sorry Dav, i know you made a poll but I really can't decide there is definitely l a place for both and I think if you took either away from the set it wouldn't be quite the same
The folk songs give power to the punk songs and equally the punk songs when juxtaposed emphasize the beauty of Jeffs folky ballads.

I've discovered the folk songs first, i loved the emotions and the lyrics, so i'd say folk. But i really love the way the punk songs sound live.

Thats an interesting point, I discovered jeff the same way though his folk songs, I guess because his lyrics are more accessible though those songs but i love the punk songs and they can have equally good lyrics. So did anyone here discover jeff though his Punkier songs? and if so whats your take on his folkier stuff?

P.s

Why is no one voting on my 'comic's' poll?! Crying or Very sad

Hard to vote for a comic book when you don't know anything about one of them. I voted reflexions because i like the title!

Anyway, back to the topic, i feel, although it's just my experience, that the folk songs emphazise the lyrics, and the "singularity" of Jeffrey. Had I discovered the punk songs first, maybe i would have think oh-another-punk-song, i would not have been hooked, not paying attention, not dig the lyrics. It would have been that bad!

Needless to say that I love the punk songs Laughing

Tricky one, the last time I did acid is a bit of a hybrid, It is most definately Anti-folk lol

Its a very good point you've made bibasse, as much as we love the punk songs would we have stopped to listen to more of jeffs stuff with out the folk?

though saying that, songs like texas and if you shoot the head you kill the ghoul would surely be enough to grab your attention

It was really the lyrics that hooked me in the first place, so as Bibasse i guess that hearing folk songs first was an easier way to discover the man !

the first one i heard was shoot the head kill the ghoul. which i guess is punk-ish. my roots are in punk rock, so even though i love folk too i had to vote for punky tunes!
